Terrible play calling they were standing we should have been in hurry up and get the first down but we looked discombobulated.
Even if we had Missouri’s QB it wouldn’t matter, we don’t have the type of receivers they do in the SEC and we won’t ever get them here. We’re a running team, the Big Ten is a running league outside of Oregon and OSU, and what Sullivan brings is his feet, and opening the box up to free up guys like KJ, Moulton, and Patterson. He’s what we need.for all of the good stuff Sully did, he's not the passing QB Id like to see. That mizzou QB is the real deal.
At least the Hawks didn't get blown out

I can't say I've noticed a huge difference recently. It's always been a judgement call. There were a few others even in the game yesterday that weren't called. They call that every single time now. BS or not Schulte has to be smarter than that. He knew he was out of bounds when he shoved the guy.

Yup.Is that the kid who was a rb in hs and transitioned to db?
Or grenades…This isn’t horse shoes.

Wrong. ISU doesn’t have those types of receivers. In no way can you compare big 12 teams with SEC teams. Look at what Texas is doing to ASU and ASU absolutely hosed Iowa state. Does not compareFry,
Why would you say Iowa can't get these types of receivers? While Iowa State is not in the SEC, they sure get much better receivers than Iowa does. If you can get them to Ames Iowa, you can get them to Iowa City with the right type of offense, which Iowa doesn't have now.
That's on coaching philosophy.

And nowhere near as good as Missouri’sOMG, Noel and Higgins are so much better than any receiver Iowa has.
I’ve said it before, it’s recruiting coming to roost from the Brian years. We were a national laughing stock and that has a huge effect, I don’t care what anyone says. I said it was going to happen back then and it is nowSpeaking of Schulte, I just can't wrap my mind around what has happened with our DBs.
Phil hangs his hat on developing defensive players, especially the backs. It became very apparent early in the season that several players hadn't taken that "leap" we normally see, such as Lee, Hall, Nwankpa, etc. You could tell that Phil desperately was trying his best to light a fire at times, but nothing came to fruition.
Is it an anomaly? I guess time will tell, but the luxury Kirk has had to get ultra-conservative knowing that the defense would carry the team through to the finish line has evaporated (something you would think he would have realized in the first half yesterday....).
I don't agree with this. They are peers to MO, but maybe a step below Ole Miss and OSU.And nowhere near as good as Missouri’s

Yep!Noel and Higgins are NFL receivers. Fry is wrong.
Receivers want targets and a QB that can get them the ball. While our playbook is expanding we still have zero dependence on the passing game and still don't have someone that can consistently get them the ball. ISU, as much as we hate it, can throw the ball and therefore are a Ames is a reasonable destination for quality receivers. Unfortunately until we solve the "who comes first the QB or the WR's" question I don't see how were even supposed to successfully find them in the portal. Lets be real are we going to be winning bidding wars for portal targets at a position that plays a minimal role in our offense?Fry,
