Murph and Andy - Please Go Away

Murph and Andy are probably the best local sports show we have now. Travis and Tim in the morning is unbearable and Ken Miller is alright but Brinson is absolutely clueless about what topics drive sports radio here in Des Moines. Murph and Andy may not break down games and such but they are at least entertaining.

Ha too true, i.e. your Brinson comment; The other day Brinson come on first and he's like, "Lets start off today with a little NBA", or some just ridiculous topic like that and Miller just says, "let's not" and goes to CFB or NFL or something relevant.

Cheat sheet for Brinson

Topics Central Iowa fans like to talk about:
College football can be talked about year round
College basketball is OK if there is a team that is good or if the teams are horrid just so people can blow steam

OP should get his (her?) own show and really show those two how it's done. I'm sure his show, format, info, etc. etc. etc. would be MUCH better than a pair of guys who've actually been in the business for quite some time.

I love Murph and Andy. There show is great. The chemistry they have is fantastic, plus I will laugh out loud at least twice per show. I stream KXNO or ESPN Radio all day at my office and for my dollar they are the best local show in Des Moines.

As a complete sidenote, i kinda disappeared for like a week and apparently missed something. Anybody know where the heck mouth of da midwest went to and why marty's off the air. Sorry if there's a thread about this I just totally missed it.

Murph and Andy do a great job. They both have "national" talent and Murphy has turned down many opportunities for national jobs. Frankly, Jon Miller is also a national talent who chooses to stay in Des Moines, much to our benefit.

This post is just wrong.

I was sad to hear that round guy lost his job, not that i listened to it, but its sad when someone loses their job right before Christmas. Of course technically speaking anytime you lose your job, you're losing it before Christmas since Christmas is like the last substantive thing that happens every year.

Andy took a little jab at the Hawks at the beginning of the show. It was something to do with the guy that voted OSU 6th behind Houston in whatever poll.

I'm sure the OP heard Andy talking about the Hawks losing to the Clones and lost it, he was on his way to his night job, turned the damn car around, drove 15 minutes back home, waited 10 minutes for the site to pull up on his dial up internet connection, which made him late for work. He is now at work still ******. Now his boss, who is a minority (the OP is Caucasian) is making him clean the bathrooms AND writing him up on final warning. wtf. Ya, I'd say thats what happened.

Murph and Andy are awesome, I really like there show.
TNT show blows goat afterbirth.
Miller and Brinson, I can listen to most of the time.

Is this for real? Let's take a second and look at the local shows we have around here.

Compare those two (who I think are absolutely hilarious) to TNT, Miller and Brinson (YUCK), Marty Tirrell or the WORST thing to ever hit radio, Larry Cotler and Andy Garmin. Consider ourselves lucky, pals.

They may not have the most in depth sports talk, but what they do cover they do a damn good job and voice their opinions. Seriously, it could just be another two hours of Larry Cotler or TNT.
