MSU vs Youngstown State







YSU had 12 first downs through a quarter and a half...and are driving again...MSU poor tackling in open field.
 


with 2:20 to go in 1st half, YSU with 42 plays to MSU 16, 14 first downs to 7, 19:08 TOP to 8:34, but down 14-6
 








Was listening to some of this game on XM and they were saying Baker might be running in high 4.2 40's, then now on the BTN broadcast they are saying high 4.3's.

I will wager right now he doesn't run sub 4.4 at the NFL combine.
 


14-6 Halftime. Kind of a disappointing 1st half for MSU, we'll see if they can come out in the 2nd and do some damage?
 


MSU replaced a bit on D. They'll tighten things up as the season goes along.

Iowa often times doesn't tackle too well through the first game of the season.

Besides, YSU isn't too bad of a team. They legitimately gave Penn State quite a game last year ... and that was even before PSU's D got too dinged up.
 


MSU not looking great in the first series of the 2nd half. Surprised that YSU has held onto the ball so far though. 20 min vs 10 min for MSU?
 




A lot of people on here have put up an "L" for teh Hawkeyes when Spfarty comes to Kinnick. I have said since the prediction threads began that we will NOT lose to MSU this season. I stand confidently by my prognostication even moreso as of this evening. :)
 




I guess people overlook the fact they only return 2 O-Lineman, you can have all the good RB's you want but if you can't block for them they are no use

Yep ... a lot of teams, even good ones, come out of the gates a bit rusty.

I agree with the assessment, but I thought their offensive line got pushed around alot. They weren't getting a push at all in most cases. Rust usually is most evident in the skill positions...not being able to impose your will on YS...well, that kind of leaves me shaking my head a little about their o-line.
