The entire notion of this thread is BS.
Mr. Davis did just fine in recruiting. That's evidenced by his overall and conference record. We finished in the upper half of the Big 10 10 out of 13 years. And that was during an era that saw the Big 10 as dominant as it's ever been in it's history. We think the league is tough now, and it is, but it was like that EVERY YEAR from 1986 thru 1999. The Final Fours and championships from the Big 10 during that time was ridiculous. If Davis was that bad of a recruiter, there's no way we win as many games as we did and go to the tournament as many times as we did.
I never understand how posters feel the need to put down one coach in order to elevate the accomplishments of another. Davis was a good recruiter and an AWESOME developer of talent and a superb coach. Saying that doesn't diminish what Fran is trying to do.
