"Dad your a genius. We are going to be rich for doing this Iowa gig. We will be able to afford a butler now. Isn't that what you meant by the butler way dad?"

Can't think of anyone who could jump and dunk in Iowa history like Sir Jamalot.
Literally LOL when I saw that! Perfect picture for patheticicism. Well done.
Haha, what is little Lick looking at? That has to be one of the most embarrassing moments in Hawkeye sports history. I remember thinking, "how do we go from the Tom Davis teams that I watched growing up to 47 points a game and the most boring style of basketball I have ever seen?!" This is why I take Ferentz and Fran's poor seasons with a grain of salt - we are a lot closer now to the top than we are the bottom. One bad coaching hire can take a decade or more to recover from. Glad it's in the rear view...for now anyways. Can only laugh about it now. Wasn't laughing so much seven years ago. What an embarrassment.

I read on the Ahmad Wagner twitter that he put up 1400 shots today. Everyone knows he is pretty athletic, and hopefully, he will be an offensive threat next year. It sounds like the players are working hard.
Hopefully a few hit the rim. JK...kinda.

Hahaha, I forgot about that! Thanks for reminding me. I can laugh about this no that its not the reality in Iowa city anymore. Shame on Big Lick for not knowing any better and for putting his own son through that. No way in hell that Little Lick plays for any other Div 1 team.It was completely embarrassing watching when he was playing when Ohio St played Iowa. It's embarrassing when the other teams know your playing a non Div 1 talent & they mock him. I remember when little Lick hit that funky reverse layup when his prayer was answered & Ohio St players pretty much laughing. It's comparable to the high school kid at the end of the bench getting in the game in mop up time & the crowd yelling for him to shoot. This was the feeling with little Lick in there, but, he was in there during the middle of the game.

I literally remember the Ohio St guard guarding him smiling & mocking him. He even did something like pat him on the back of the head during play while smiling or something like that. Should look on YouTube for it.

Yeah, the 1969-70 team, the SIx Pack, had John Johnson, "Downtown" Freddie Brown, Chad Calabria, and Glen "The Stick" Vidnovic all average more than 17 points a game. They were also the last Iowa team to go undefeated in the Big 10. Johnson was the #7 pick in the 1970 NBA draft, Vidnovic was the #60 pick in that same draft and Brown was the #6 pick in the 1971 draft. They lost to an Artis Gilmore led Jacksonville team in the NCAA tournament.I'll take the 80s versions. Or even the early 70s.
We will obviosly need to repalce experience but I think we are in just as good of shape with what we have this year compared to last year. I think the point guards this year will be equal to and eventually at some point this year be better than last years. Uthoff's scoring will be missed but will be replaced buy others. I was not a fan of Jarrods attitude, I think that was a drag on the team. Woody's scoring will be replaced but his other attributes will be replaced over time. There's no question they are more athletic than any team Fran has had so far, and about 20 times more athletic than the Lickliter teams. I haven't seen enough of them to fairly assess whether or not they are more athletic than Alford's best teams. I'm too young to remember before Alford in much detail.
