Morningstar back as Iowa asst coach

KJ Pilcher is the CR Gazette just tweeted out that he talked with Morningstar and he confirmed Ryan is a new asst coach with the Hawks. Any one know who he replaced? Also Ramos tweeted out congrats to Morningstar as well.
 




Great to have Ryan back in the wrestling room. Will be very curious to find out who he is replacing??
 




first Wisky can't hold on to wrestlers, now they can't hang on to coaches, I would like to be fly on Barry's wall to find out what is going on up there.

Why not Luke? He might have been the most aggressive wrestler but Ryan brings qualities that you want in your room. He will teach the importance of strength, discipline, good defense and heart. Which are some things that are lacking at the middle to upper weights for the Hawkeyes at this point. Now if we could just get Dan Erekson back to coach the heavys..
 


i completely agree with wild turkey

he will be able to relate to the kids better than anyone which will help recruiting

hopefully zadick isn't gone but that is a rumor

Sounds like Zadick is out as a coach but was offered the strength coach job. No word yet on whether he is going to take it. It has also been reported that Erekson is coming back to IC in some capacity.

So Morningstar basically gets Zadicks job? Dont settle for less Mike!

Also i cant wait to get Danimal back in the room!
 


if Erekson is coming back and M* already on his way, it would appear that Sir Tom has "Scratched where it Itched"
 


This is a GREAT and Bold move for the Hawks. Its clear that Tom needs to shake things up a bit and Ryan is clearly capable of this. I know he was not the most "aggressive" wrestler on the mat but I have spent plenty of time in the room and he is Great at finding ways to get kids over the hump. He will be a Great assest for our kids in the weight range of 149 to 174!!! While I do feel for Mike a bit I am VERY HAPPY about the move. Also look for the Danimal to be coming back and showing Telford and Burak a few things.
 




I think i have to like the hire. brands and co have the ability to get any coach they want. obviously m* wasn't an exciting wrestler to watch but if he was hand picked to replace zadick it has to be for a reason, he must be a heck of a coach.
 


i know a lot of great coaches that never even wrestled so can't judge this by his past accomplishments im happy with hire
