More Sour Grapes...

Iowa probably should have gotten flagged for holding on that last touchdown, number 14 practically tackled the defender before Easley had the ball.

I thought that as well, but I think the safety slipped as he tried to cut and both players went down awkwardly

(Sigh) Their defender got knocked on his ass because he was expecting Groeneweg to run a route, not throw a block. And the pass was behind the LOS, so receivers can block downfield before or when the ball is thrown.

Pass appeared to be in front of the LOS. Keep in mind it’s a judgment call by the ref and not something they could have reviewed had a ref thrown a flag.

To me no different as NS gifted them one staring at his receiver and throwing to triple coverage. JG was in the right spot to pick the ball. And I believe someone stated GS had slightly tipped the ball but I haven't rewatched to see if that was the case.
GS also tipped Gervase's first int opportunity, which probably would have been as good as a punt for MSU if Gervase did pick it off. But some are blistering Gervase regardless.

Sorry, but a year from now, 5 years from now, 10 years from now, Iowa finished the season 9-4, Miss. St. went 8-5. No asterisks, no "yeah, buts ...", just 9-4. The Outback Bowl ain't no best of seven series.
Aren't no asterisks from the official snow job vs Urb and Florida in the 2006 Outback Bowl, either.

So we didn't "deserve" to win because their WR dropped a tipped pass? Yet ISM dropping a kickoff return leading to a score for Miss. St. isn't a fluke?

Also I could find you 10 holding calls that could have been called on Miss. St. They could literally make a holding call on nearly every play. Yet once again Iowa didn't "deserve" to win because they didn't get flagged on a questionable holding call?

isn't unreal these people that call themselves Hawk fans try to find anything to degrade a great game and a great win for the Hawks. We're talking about a boost for recruiting here. Anytime you beat a secpn team it's going to send shockwaves.

first two just replayed key moments. third one went sideways.
of course, all three down-played or ignored Iowa's mistakes that MSU used to their advantage.

but typical local coverage of a game "we coulda/shoula/woulda won"

Jake played his HS ball at Davenport Assumption. This weekend my brother reminded me that he had 12 interceptions his senior year in HS. Two against Muscatine that were very similar to his interception in the end zone.

Got to live out his dream as a kid I am sure.
