I just saw a list of college football signees from Nebraska high schools, and there were 21 D1 signees and 11 1-AA signees. Nebby signed 1 of them. That player is rated lower than any of our signees.

Remember back when that was their bread and butter? When they had no scholarship and roster limits? In 1996 they took 180 players to the Fiesta Bowl.

We plucked him out of Omaha, and he has a seriously high ceiling. If you get a chance to watch any interviews with him I'd highly recommend it.

He's refreshingly mature and well-spoken in addition to being a great athlete. Barring injury, he'll be a team captain and the next great Phil Parker product.

And his brother is a starting DB for the Huskers. It seems that this kid has the higher ceiling though. Life long Hawkeye fan.

You know who else has emphasized stability? Oregon. They have FIRED one coach since 1977 (Helfrich was let go after going 11-2, 13-2, 9-4, and then 4-8). They have had others leave for other positions (Chip Kelly for the NFL, Cristobal for Miami, and Taggart for FSU). Their replacements have mostly been internal over those 48 years (Bellotti, Kelly, Helfrich, Cristobal), with only Taggart and Lanning being hired externally.

It sure helps to have the deepest pockets in the game, but we should not overlook how patientily and intelligently they have built this thing.

With all the $$$$ and support, makes ya wonder why so many of those coaches chose to leave and move on from Oregon.

Lots of reasons, Oregon is highly taxed, some may not like the climate, local politics, school system for kids etc. I am also confident that because of how much money is thrown around over there, how much control and influence does the coach really have? How much butt kissing and toeing the line is involved with the Nike money? Money isn't the only thing important to people especially when family considerations come into play
