More evidence to support my 2013 Iowa vs Isu prediction.......................

Was at a conference this weekend where both hawks and clones were able to be civil toward each other. Wasn't sure that was possible. Some that were there were Al Lorenzen and Jamie Pollard to name a few. No I didn't introduce myself to or get Pollard's or Lorenzen's autograph because I'm not a groupie. :D

Anyway...................I talked with a big time clone booster. I mean this guy really does wear clone underwear. His comments when I brought up the big game this fall? "I hate to say this, but Iowa will be favored. Even though we red shirted all of our defensive recruits from last year, we just lose way too much on defense this year."

There you have it from the horse's mouth. Ok, what more do you need folks??????????The Hawks will beat the clones in Ames this year. Mark my word.

Iowa will be favored, when was the last time ISU was favored in this game even when it is at JTS?

I say it will be a close game losing Knott and Klein is going to hurt us pretty bad, but as of now neither team know's what it's QB situation will be. I say ISU will pull out the win.

Oh, there is no question the clones will have an edge in the qb position. Where the real advantage for Iowa will be is both lines. Won't be close. That's the game changer right there.

It will be a big upset if Isu wins because they will be the worst team in the big 12 this year. And Iowa will have the talent edge this year by a decent margin, unlike a lot of games they played last year.

I think you have more confidence in Iowa this year than I do.. ISU is always far more up for this game than Iowa ever is, and it's being played in Jack Trice this year. Nothing would surprise me. ISU may be bad, but Iowa isn't going to be world beaters, either.

Iowa *should* win, but you could say that about quite a few Iowa Football games the past several years that they lost. I'm just not convinced Iowa is going to manhandle the Clones. Should be a close game.

Yeah, I should clarify. I am still calling for Iowa to win only 5 games this year. I am confident they beat Isu because the clones will be a bottom MAC team talent wise this year.

By the way, I sure hope Pollard doesn't fire Rhoads after this year, they'll win maybe three games. Rhoads is the best guy Isu could ever get. And unlike most hawk fans, I want Isu and Rhoads to win every game other than when they play the hawks.

is it really an upset if neither team is expected to achieve anything?

I think you are vastly overestimating how good Iowa will be and underestimating ISU's talent. ISU will be better offensively coming in than Iowa will be.

ISU will win as many or more games as Iowa in '13. and ISU plays in a much better conference.

It's an upset if a team less talented than the other wins.

I don't think Iowa will be good this year.

How do you figure Isu will be better in talent on offense than Iowa will be?

RB - draw
Line- Iowa
TE - Iowa
WR - draw

I have a better chance of waking up with my face sewn to the carpet then Pollard firing Rhoads. Even if we don't win a single game next year.

Thisy this. I don't. Think very many games are a "lock " next year. Especially the ISU game. We have been the far better team and lost that one.

QB play is the make/break for the hawks this year. If its average to good 6+ wins...if its below average to bad...no bowl...again

I hope for option A
 




A lot of Weisman, a lot of Bullock and hopefully whoever the QB ends up being they won't have to throw the football more than 25 times.

you serious? ISU has so much more depth at RB, and better athletes. Not to mention by that time you'll likely be down to some walk on kid once AIRBHG gets loose in your backfield.

TE - Iowa, but that's a moot point because ISU barely even uses a TE. It's a much more important part of Iowa's offense than it is ISU's.

and lets not forget the most important factor here... Greg Davis is not a good offensive coordinator unless he has some elite athletes (i.e. vince young). Last I checked, Iowa doesn't have any elite athletes.

We had to hear all of that crap last year about ISU RB. The sad fact is, that at the end of the day, Iowa's 8th string RB and backup FB proved to be a better RB than ISU's top guys.

Weisman: 815 yards 5.1 YPC and 8 TD's
Whits: 505 yards 5.1 YPC and 2 TD's
Johnson: 504 yards 4.4 YPC and 2 TD's

So even with AIRBHG devastating our RB, even though ISU has "more depth" and better "athletes", Iowa will put the best RB on the field again this year.
 


Iowa won't have better RB next year but their line will be much better, thus making the rb's look better.
