Its sounds like this was a longer term type thing. Not a one-time oopsy. It would not surprise me if they both had feelings for each other and this was more than just sex.
I will say that I agree she was an adult and this sounds consensual, so she doesn't get a full pass. But, he is much worse here. Setting aside his marriage, kids, and alleged faith, he is much older, her boss, wealthy, powerful. There was a power imbalance here. He wasn't fired because he cheated on his wife. That is what he did morally wrong here. He was fired because he slept with an employee, which exposes him and Michigan to tremendous exposure as it can be a form of sexual harassment depending on the circumstances. She likely will not be fired, and if anything, she probably will sue the school and get a quiet, six-figure check. That's how this shit usually goes down.

I'm really curious about the sequence of events. At what point in time was he fired and the assault occurred? It doesn't sound like this relationship was much of a secret, even players knew about it, so why did it take so long for something to be done about it? Was it because he got arrested for assault, which made all of this public, so Michigan saved face by firing him?

LOL. I can relate. I had a similar position where clients would occasionally call me for help with a case. Usually, I'd refer them to my tech guys (I'm biz development and sales), but often I could help them with a brief chat. About half of them were female. My wife was well-informed about who they were. I was very transparent with it all.

The timing is interesting. Supposedly far more proof of an inappropriate relationship came out this week after university officials investigated it earlier this fall and found no wrongdoing.
It feels like this information would not have suddenly appeared had Michigan beat Ohio State and been in the playoffs.
If the powers that be had wanted to protect Moore, they would have stepped in and dictated a change in reporting structure earlier this fall. Not that hard for a low level person. Say this position now rolls up over here, part of that group, whatever.
Which is almost assuredly what would have happened down the road if Michigan went on a great run. But given the 8 losses over 2 years, sort of handy to have an out ready when needed (and no buyout necessary).

According to some Michigan peeps, both of them were asked about a potential relationship this Summer and denied it. For some reason she recently had a change of heart and came clean. That's what precipitated the firing.
Was she offered immunity (protection of her job) to help bring him down? Who knows...

Those types of lawyers have probably already sent her a solicitation of services. Almost every state is no fault divorce, so his infidelity doesn't technically matter in the divorce. Generally speaking, you put everything that either of them has, put it into a pot and chop it in half. Its never that simple, but that is how it works in theory.
No need to donate money. Mrs. Sherron's lawyers are paid out of the marital estate. Meaning, Sherron will ultimately end up paying for both sets of lawyers. Divorce is brutal financially.
There is a great line in the movie War of the Roses (Michael Douglas/Kathleen Turner), when they angrily declare they are getting divorced:
Husband (who is a lawyer): "You better get a damn good lawyer and hope he is better than me."
Wife: "Best your money can buy."

It's sounding like the AD knew about it and tried to keep it quiet. If Moore is that pissed off about getting the boot to go to jail over it, you can bet he's going to take whoever he can down with him.
I'm guessing we've probably heard the last of Warde Manuel in maize and blue.
And it's not like he hasn't had a whole buncha chances already. This is like the 4th scandal he's had...

IANAL, but my aunt went through something like that where her husband started banging the elementary school principal, and she wanted to go nuclear on him. They had no kids and she was going scorched earth and was worried that they'd just chop everything down the middle. Hired a guy out of St Louis who told her judges will consider fault with infidelity and I'm not sure of the details but she definitely came out WAY ahead. She did tell me at one point she could live off his spousal support alone and she had a damn good job.

For what it is worth, I think Campbell made the right choice.
It's really gonna get weird in Ann Arbor as this investigation unfolds. All the weirdness at Penn State (and there was a lot) appears to be history, at least for now.
It is amazing what big time college football has become. Woody Hayes lived in a tiny house with the same wife in Columbus for over 30 years. Taught a class as a faculty member. Made very little money as the coach and lived a very simple life. Would talk to students on his front porch. He really did not care about the money and said so many times. He had a hot temper, but that was about it.
Now these coaches are signing 75 million dollar contracts. I'm sure Moore's contract was tens of millions. That kind of money has to affect you in unforeseen ways.
When you hire a coach, you hire his character and values as well. This Moore character seems like a real piece of work. Surely Michigan knew that when they hired him? Why DID they hire him in the first place?

This one of the many things that makes me content to be an Iowa fan. We've had our share of stuff like rhabdo, 2020, and Tracey Grease Bomb, but they seem to handle those things a whole lot better and I'll take 8-9 wins and boring stability any day over this kind of bullshit all the time.

Don't get the roots and family thing. Campbell grew up in Ohio. He went to Pitt for one year. Where's the deep Pennsylvania connection?
Not sure buy I think I read that he grew up in northeast Ohio, which is close to PA. Might have something to do with how he feels.
