Montgomery ran for 1,092 yards and 12 touchdowns.
Butler had 1,126 receiving yards and 9 touchdowns.

Montgomery counted for 74% of their total rushing yards.
Butler counted for 40% of their total receiving yards.

combined those two guys counted for 57% of their total offensive touchdowns.

That hurts more than some.

Programs like Iowa State don't rebuild, they reload. 11-1 (will lose to Oklahoma on a bad no-call pass interference on a 2 point conversion play 77-76).

Very true. I completely forgot they have the greatest coach in the history of college football..........who has never won more than 8 games in a season, never beaten Iowa, and has a career 19-19 record at Iowa State.

You know who else has never beaten Iowa? Dabo. Kirby. And guess who hasn't beaten Iowa bince high tailing it out of the Big Ten once he saw Kirk rebuilding Iowa into a power. Nick freaking Saban! 0-1 in the SEC.

and Saban's career has gone downhill ever since. No doubt in my mind now, Ferentz needs another 5 year extension.

Look at what he did in the NFL. Nothing. So he won a few titles at Bama (ROLL TIDE), big deal. Who cares? Freaking Gene Stallings won a title there and Kirk and Hayden have more coaching knowledge in their pinkies than Stallings had in his whole body.

Makes you wonder if he knows something about about Campbell taking another job but just hasn't come out yet. Prob not, though, as I think some are ranking him possibly the 2nd best RB in the draft.
 
Wow! Montgomery was a threat anytime he was on the field. One less problem for us in September! Because they are not going to be able to replace him.

Are those guys from Nevada, IA or something, because if they ain't, I don't believe ISU is recruiting clean. After watching Ol Miss bring a bunch of studs in during the Freeze tenure, I get pretty suspicious when 4th tier programs are landing star athletes.
 
Good for him and a good decision. Running back is a position where injuries occur with greater frequency. Take the money if and when you can get it.
 
Montgomery and butler going pro? I think Iowa goes into lames a 6.5 favorite next year now.

19-19 at ISU is incredibly impressive. Very few coaches could beat that. We’re talking about one of the 5 worst jobs in the Power 5
