Mitch Leidner does not have love for Kirk Ferentz

No wonder the kid punches way above his weight against Iowa.

This guy is a pro prospect.....I don't get it, but maybe it is the size thing(save the jokes) or the desperation the league now how has for quarterbacks, but if he has a solid year he moves above CJB in the pecking order. I am with you, take out the Iowa game and i am not impressed......scouts and NFL draft gurus like this dude for some reason.

That's no joke. One Respected NFL Draft analyst is projecting Liedner to go in the first round next year, and he is serious.

Sorry about that I didn't catch your post until after i posted mine.....No doubt he's got a lot riding on this year.

I see him as a cross between Peyton Manning and Tom Brady, with the arm strength of Brett Favre and the potential of an Andrew Luck.

He wouldn't be the only QB to have been recruited that way. Was he the same class as CJ? If he's a RS Senior then it's pretty safe to say Iowa went the right route.. He seems like a good kid and not a bad QB by any means. Lots of kids like to put chips on their shoulders to get motivated it works both ways. King could hold grudges against the Michigan schools if he wanted to. That's human nature.

He plays for a school who cheers, WE HATE IOWA. Why would one expect anything less? If one saw him play his first two seasons, no one was questioning why he didn't get an offer. I'll still take CJB, every time.

In addition, they don't just cheer WE HATE IOWA during Iowa games, they do that cheer during other games as well, like during the Wisconsin game. Kind of weird.

I like this guy, he is competitive and has gotten better over the years by working hard and steadily improving himself. Can't wait to see him playing on Sundays!
Get off the funny weed dude. He's not going to play on Sunday's unless it's playing touch football with friends.

I think having Ruddock and Beathard in the house I think being warm on him was about right. Hard to argue with a 12-0 season wishing we had Mitch Leidner! What they pummeled a bad Iowa team once since he's been there. Even a blind squirrel finds a nut once in awhile.

Minnesota is getting attention from some as the Big West fave. For that to happen, Leidner would have to have a great season. Without that...no chance.
Looking at their Ws last year, I'm not impressed. Colorado St, Kent State, Ohio, Purdue, Illinois and Central Michigan in a bowl game.

He's lucky he ended up at MN. He would have been riding the pine at Iowa for the last 4 years. He should be thanking KF for his fortunate situation.

And if were not for a knot head move by that other QB they had. He would still be tangled up in a QB controversy and probably seen about half the time on the field as he has. IMO, fate has had more to do with his improvement than anything.

Mitch, don't take this the wrong way, but Minnesota has it's standards and Iowa has theirs. So don't take this article personally.

Best of the best:Ohio State and Iowa

The Buckeyes are a fixture at the top level in the Big Ten at the most important fixture. And with their current depth chart and a pipeline flowing with more highly-touted passers on the way, Urban Meyer’s program isn’t going away any time soon.J.T. Barrettis back in the fold and is now unquestionably the starter going into a campaign for the first time in his career. The Buckeyes have both experience and talent leading the way withJoe BurrowandDwayne Haskinslined up behind him waiting for a turn to show what they can do.

C.J. Beathardmay not put up the kind of individual statistics that turn heads across the nation, but he’s established himself as a proven winner. And on top of that, he’s also become something of a poster child for a reenergized Iowa program thanks to his versatile set of skills and a knack for delivering big plays at opportune times.

One analyst in October says that about a senior QB. Better have a hell of a November.
