Miss St replays on You Tube - LSU and Auburn

Their QB is a load running out of the zone read - tall fast about 225, he reminds me of the Tenn halfback that just ran over us in the Taxslayer bowl. His runs are mostly between the tackles. His passing is suspect to say the least, need to get them in long yardage situations and blitz at least one guy because this qb was not that good under pressure and they threw a lot of short passes even on 3rd and long.

It will be hard to run wide against them and even up the middle. Front seven looks tough

I thought their coverage guys played soft on plays I saw so maybe hawks need to pass early, often and quick routes. There were a lot of quick slants and in patterns that their coverage guys were 5 yards off.

Their running backs didnt shine in these two replays but they were playing against tough defenses.

hawks can play their base defense but need to mix in some blitz, both gap run blitz and pass blitz, mix man and zone as this qb looks like he was confused and throwing into tight coverage like it was unknown to him.

Hawk offense can try to establish the run, maybe our run blocking is something they dont see very often but I dont see iowa getting a lot of running yards. Pass first, quick hitters to occupy their lbkrs and safeties then mix in the run

Anybody else got ideas

They had 5 guys on 1st or 2nd team all SEC...all defensive players. Take that either way.

By the way, the RB you talked about for Tennessee caught 69 balls for almost 1000 yards this year for Baylor. I had no idea he went there and switched to WR.

Phil Parker will be drilling them over and over on assignment football. Especially the front 7. Hopefully our experience vs Maryland will help us here. Safeties need to really have good vision and be ready to fill.

We did pretty well vs Georgia Tech with a month to prepare... let’s hope the offense can move the ball.

We didn’t fare so well against Minnesota when they brought in their big running QB, up in Minnesota this year. We won the game, but this is a big ole step up from that.
