Minnesota vs South Dakota St.

Minnesota D is warm butter soft.

Minny OL is slow.

Minny QB is impotent.

They are baaaaaaaaaad.

I never bought into their defensive resurgence late last year. I'll give them credit for handling Purdue but that was a brutal weather game. Wisconsin and GT had 2 of the worst passing offenses in the P5 last year and Wisconsin was beat up as well.

If the Gophers are going to win this year it will be behind their WRs & RBs outscoring teams. They got some players there.

But their OL (particularly pass blocking) and QB are getting exposed right now.

If you're a P5 team trying to build a program and you feel like you have to schedule an FCS team, make sure they're not one of the top programs at that level.
I’ve never understood that line of reasoning. Because scheduling a really poor one or a poor Mac team like We do does what exactly for you?

I cant wait to see ol PJs press conference if they lose and what crazy metaphor he could use.

Their lines look bad too...

MAC > FCS

Always, especially from an optics standpoint. A MAC team at least has an equal amount of scholarships and, in theory, better talent than 99% of FCS teams.

It's a lose-lose situation.

If you're going to schedule an FCS team, its an attempt at a glorified scrimmage. To get a lot of guys playing time and develop depth. So don't schedule one that can beat you or really even compete with you. And these top flight FCS schools have proven to be dangerous. They usually have great coaching staffs with well established programs with 5th year SR players all over the place.

Basically if you're going to schedule cupcakes. Make damn sure their very soft cupcakes. Otherwise schedule solid non-conference teams.

They have 22 more scholarships if they are fully funded but FCS teams have been beating Mac teams head to head for years. The only thing the Mac has over the top 35-40 fcs schools (entire Missouri Valley) is perception
