Miller's replacement

Throwing feces against the oscillator, Lowdermilk slides over to Tanner Miller's spot, let them battle for Lowdermilk's old spot.

Draper does have some room for improvement. Hopefully he makes a big leap during these bowl practices and spring practices. He hasn't shown up in games yet (this year or last year).

However, with all the reps he is getting ones gotta think the coaches feel good about his talent level/ability. (Ooooooor, the coaches just don't want to play the most talented players - wink face)

Hell, if Shada was in shape he would have been better than most of the Bears starting secondary after the injury bug hit.
 
JM just hasn't been the same since moving the site from the Scount network. Its like he isn't even trying anymore, just posting "Go Hawks" on a message board doesn't have the same effect it did ten years ago. May Chris Williams from Cyclonefanatic, or hire a new kid just out of college who wants a part time job covering the Hawks.

It appears Parker is a bit more intense than KirFer. Not Kaz levels, but certainly more intense.

I don't blame Parker for dressing down a player that failed at basic fundamentals of a postion. And you can certainly point to Parker's track record as a sign his tactics have been proven.

This makes me like Phil Parker even more. There were a few plays in that game where our safeties just completely missed or took terrible angles to the ball or pass. It was very, very bad...like 80's Northwestern Football bad. To know that they got what was coming to them...well, well played Mr. Parker.

In all honesty though, I think the safeties have played well over the past 3-4 games. They are in position and they are making the tackles quickly with little after the catch if it's made. I've been impressed with the progress they have made. Lowdermilk is going to be very good. He's tough, smart, and has some athleticism. He gets to the ball quickly.
 
Rip away but Tanner Miller was the second best defensive player against Nebraska. Closed on Abdullah in a hurry to keep 3-4yard gains from becoming TDs

Gotta be able to tackle...... i realize Miller came up to the los and whiffed on occasion, but he was willing to mix it up, the pitty patty hand fighting ain't going to work at the safety spot.

gotta be able to tackle and lomax has had injury issues with his shoulder. Lomax would be better against pass but maybe a liability against the run.
 
My guess for the replacement for Miller is either Lowdermilk moves to FS or we start a walk-on from the midwest.

Marcus Paschal is the only guy I can remember under KF to start at FS who wasn't white and came to Iowa on a scholly.

Didn't Cato get forced in at FS for a limited time? I get too drunk during games and can't remember. Maybe it was strong safety. Whatever happened to that dude?
