Miller's instant reaction-LOL

I think you're wrong. Kirk said CJ was available to play. If he was concussed, he wouldn't even have dressed, much less been "available to play".

I think Kirk told CJ to dress to troll the fanbase. At this point I wouldn't put anything past KF...

That's to bad you feel that way. Because Hawkeyereport is a better website with better message boards/coverage of anything Hawkeye related.

Tom Kakert is my real name. I am a Hawkeye addict.

Tommie from Des Moines is my real name. I am a hawkeye addict.

These threads make me laugh.
Everybody getting so worked up like it's the end of the world that they lost against a team they were underdogs to and in a game in which they made way too many stupid mistakes whether it was penalties or turnovers. I didn't think they would win that game at the beginning of the year. I doubt many people did. They are right where I thought they would be at this point of the season. Sure it sucks they lost especially since they would have won if they didn't have so many mistakes.

The fact is they are 5-2 with I think 5 winnable games remaining. They will probably win 3 and will be right where I thought they would be. I find it so odd that people just can't enjoy watching the games. So many on here just seem to be miserable.

I find it odd that a fan doesn't get worked up by an abysmal performance. A performance coming from a veteran team and a program in its 16 year of the regime, and in a season where the previous two seasons were to have made this a championship caliber team. I mean, isn't that why we were all supposed to give KF a pass in 2012?

I am not going to be critical of how a person chooses to root for their team and being casual or intense about it doesn't make a person any more or less a fan. But don't be critical of how others root for their team, if it's different from your way.

In any event, at what point to we hold KF to producing a championship caliber team? Sure, the might still get there, this season. I believe specific personnel changes are required for that to happen. Yep, it's only football. But, football is a sport played and rooted for, with emotion.

HR blows.

On that 3rd and two play, had a back wide open on the right for an easy first down. Instead, threw to a tight end in tight coverage and a punt to follow. Stared down receivers all day

They go for it on 4th and 5 but not 4th and 2? They should have just ran the ball on 3rd and 4th down anyways. But what do I know?

Makes perfect sense to expect to be terrible (yes, 5-2 is terrible in this season) and then not be dissapointed by being terrible. 16 years in and you have no issue w/ our team being pathetic. Welcome to the new University of IA Cyclones (east).

Luckily half our fanbase is already w/ you. While it is our new requirement to be terrible and just lap it up, it will take some time for the remaining half of the fan base to recalibrate their expectations. What's worse, they'll need them spelled out since in their misguided opinion, we shouldn't be heading down the drain 16 yrs into K.F. tenure.
Here is how you must now comport yourself to be welcomed into the U.of I. (east) cyhawks or hawkclones or whatever we're to be referred to as:
1) Loss = victory (moral victory that is)
2) Win = in literal sense, we won't know what this means but see #1, all upcoming years will be huge success
3) Expect little to nothing
4) Praise "nothing" when this is delivered to us Saturdays
5) Deflect always (rural setting, it's cold, we're just lowly IA). **I already know your response to this provision; why does any of this matter when only moral victories count. Why make excuses for a loss, when a loss is actually a win that only "true fans" are able to recognize. The problem w/ rule #1 and thus the requirement for #5, is the national media. They fixate on production, wins, recruiting, X's and O's... and that's where they fail to comprehend football. Nothing matters more than the moral victory and unquantifyable feelings you have about the team.
6) Go hawklones!

No we expect more from a coach that makes close to 4 million, we don't want to hear we were outplayed and out coached. As bad as we played we still had a chance to win that game with better coaching.Yes we are 5-2 however if we keep playing like this we won't win more than one more game.We should be playing our better ball right now and that's on THE COACHES. How can UOfIowa Keep charging so much for tickets to watch a average team.

Uhmmm idk where to add this lil tidbit but does anyone remember when D. King muffed that punt?

Yup, that was clutch. Good times
