midlands results/predictions

pin2win

@hagertony
post up your predictions gents its gonna be a great couple of days

i'll finally be able to follow this event and be able to post!!

go hawks!

I don't know enough about the younger guys, at least how they compare to their peers, to make many predictions. I think McD will win and that Mark Ballweg will surprise many.

Newer wrestling fan, so at the midlands Iowa can wrestle multiple wrestlers at the same weight. Can it end up being Hawkeye vs Hawkeye.

25: McD 1 (Tough finals vs Precin)

33: Ramos 2, Clark 4 (Clark & Ramos could meet in QF since #6 seed Moore is no longer entered. Clark would become #11 seed and face new #6 in second round; winner vs #3 Ramos. I'm picking a steadily improving Ramos over a slightly rusty Clark. Would love to see Ramos beat Graff but I'm not feeling it. REALLY wish Moore were here.)

41: BW 5 (Re-match w/ Drouin in QFs)

49: Big BW -- (Unseeded; we'll see how the draw is and how tough the weight cut was)

57: DSJ 1 (Tough match w/ Welch in SFs); Kelly --

65: Kerr 8 Jans -- (Unseeded Janssen will be randomly drawn in and could face a top seed early)

74: LH 7 (I say he beats #7 seed in second round); Evans -- (hopefully I'm wrong)

84: GG 1 (per seed)

97: LH 2 (per seed)

Hwt: Telford 6, Rasing 8

Really tough to do without seeing final brackets but I'll give it a shot.

125:
1. "Steel"
2. Precin
3. Watters
4. Patterson
Disappointed that Nicholson is not here.

133:
1. Graff easily wins this
2. Unless Ramos slips up he should get 2nd
3. Nova from Cal Poly
4. Sentes

141:
1. Kennedy
2. Nova
3. Ballweg
4. Drouin
If Ballweg were on the other side I think he would be in the finals but either way he won't be Kennedy.

1. LeValley
2. Jantzen
3. Mason
4. Nadhir

157:

Really wish Fittery was there to lose to DSJ!! I'm still calling DSJ vs. Taylor in the finals come March

Unless DSJ figures out how to fight thru adversity, he won't even AA. He's got McD type skills, in that when he gets his hands on a leg, he can suck it in and get the takedown. I think he's having trouble dealing with the fact that even medicore wrestlers at the D1 level can beat a top guy. Everything probably has come pretty easy coming up thru club and high school wrestling, that he's not used to being challlenged. The red-shirt year is supposed to acclimate a wrestler to this, but since he was our best 157lb and he wrestled in lower level opens (other than Midlands of course), this did not happen. Fortunately, I believe this is something that can be fixed if DSJ wants it to. Maybe this will be the wake up he needs.
