Michigan St's first 7 games

Assuming MSU handles Illinois at home this coming weekend, they will be 7-0. Yet they have not travelled outside of the state of Michigan. A complete dream schedule. 5 home games, 1 "neutral" game vs Fla Atlantic at Ford Field, and one true road game. Thank God they have to travel to Kinnick this year or they could go undefeated. Penn St won't beat them, so its up to us or Northwestern now.

I hear what you're saying, but I wouldn't call going to play at Michigan stadium easy or anything. I know it's in Michigan, but...

I think MSU is bit overrated so far. Notre Dame is an average 7 or 8 win team. MSU needed to trick play in OT to beat that home. UM lacks physicality and thier defense sucks. I think MSU good but not elite.

time will tell.

I think anyone assuming that MSU will handle Illinois is making a big assumption.

Good point about MSU and Illinois. That team is better than people are giving them credit for. That being said, MSU should win.

I don't know what the early line is, but I would agree only because it is a home game for Sparty. Ill has a pretty decent rushing attack going and this is the B10. Personally, I hope they are still without a loss going into our game.

spud and I warned people before ... this years MSU team is not one to be trifled with. Iowa will have its hands full ... but, that said, I think that it still should be a very winnable game for us.

yes they haven't had the hardest road, but they'll trip up a couple times. they're sparty after all, that's what they do.

This version of Sparty seems a bit different to me. Mark Dantonio is a heck of a coach, and I feel he might be the guy who brings MSU up into the upper eschelon of the conference. They are starting to look like a mirror of our program. It is at our peril to take them lightly.
