I dont think i can ever remember Iowa being this big of an underdog. This is one of the highest conference spreads (if not the highest) Ive seen all season.

Depressing

If I were a betting man I think I would take MSU. The only factor here is when Izzo calls off the dogs and lets the end of his bench finish the game. That might factor in what the final difference of the score is.

They beat us by 18 on our own court about a week and a half ago. Seeing them win by 23+ on theirs wouldn't be much of a stretch.

Iowa is probably the better bet. Why should MSU care about winning by 25 or 30? They'll blow us out by early 2nd half and coast with subs.

Of course, if they cared and wanted to play 40 minutes, 30 would be too small a spread.

Welcome to Iowa Basketball in the year 2010.

Izzo will call off the dogs, it is just a matter of when. Iowa could lose by 40+ but my guess is it will be closer to 20 as MSU will pack it in the final 8 or so minutes.

Right in line with a score that flashed in my mind last night -- Sparty 80, Hawks 56.

When it comes to playing at MSU, Iowa is the proverbial snowball and Breslin is their hell ... is, was and always will be.

When did we last win up there? Was it the first game after Christ Street died, or did Alford manage to win a game in East Lansing?

Yes, the first game after Street's death was our last win up there. I remember something like 3-straight buzzer beaters or MSU go-ahead baskets with 1-2 seconds left in the mid 90's. Once MSU started getting to those Final 4's, it's been a house of horrors every year.

Alford's teams got absolutely smoked every trip to Breslin. Down 10 by the first t.v. timeout. Down 20 by the second. Down 30 at halftime. Horrible.

If there's one good thing I can say about Lickliter, at least his team managed to keep it within single digits (or around 10) last year. It's been a while since we've seen a game even that close up there.

Even the best team of the Alford era - a 3 seed in the tournament got absolutely destroyed up there in 2006 and lost 85-55. Three weeks after the 30 point beat down Iowa beat MSU at home by 12.

It sounds like an exaggeration but we are about 30-40 points worse in East Lansing. So i guess that means we are going to lose by about 50 tonight....

Their subs could probably take our starters. Sad, but true. I'd take MSU -22.5.
