Michigan's D is playing at an entirely different level right now. While I'm not sure their offense can win them games I'm really beginning to think they might not have too. Their defense is sick.

Michigan is #3 on Sagarin now. If they win out they're probably in, but you can say that for a lot of teams, including us.

I'd say Utah was a test, and though they lost--and B1G teams aren't notorious for going out West and winning night games--they lost to a Top 7- or 8-level team who has shown themselves to be legit. And not many had them bi**h-slapping BYU the way they did. And NW had some good wins over currently-Top 25 teams, so there's that.

MSU will be their NEXT test, for sure. But to say they are "untested" isn't wholly accurate.

They certainly are tested. But at the CFP level, they lost their only test. Saturday will tell the tail.(even though MSU looks really unimpressive right now)

Sure their QB is pedestrian, but they have NFL level recievers that can cover up a lot of those shortcomings.

My take on this is that I don't see another team in the country playing as well rounded as Michigan is right now. Not saying that they're one of the best teams in the nation, but hard for me to say a defense that's had 3 straight shutouts and outscored their opponents 160-14 over the last 5 games doesn't at least belong in the conversation.
