michigan line

You know what's weird is each team is 4 games in and we have 2 opponents in common.

It's not critical for Iowa to win this week, but it is critical for Iowa to at least split the next 2 weeks. Given the expectations on the Michigan program this season, a loss to Iowa would send them into what could be a complete tail spin. So, I think Michigan has to give Iowa their best shot and for them to be successful against Iowa, Shae Patterson is going to have to run and be exposed to hits. The downside for Michigan rushing him is that Patterson likes to drop the ball lots and they may not have McCaffery ready to go as a back up.

As for the line, it looks like it's still being driven on the off season measurable advantages the Wolverines have (lots of quality athletes, belief in coaching staff). But if you've watched Iowa and Michigan play this year, it's had to get to Michigan winning by 6 or 7. I haven't really seen anything this season out of Michigan to change my perception of Michigan in the Harbaugh era: they club bad teams like a baby seal and get beat by quality opponents.

The hawks have been taking care of the ball, they can run and pass, I like the defense minus missing a couple of starting Dbacks, but I dont like the cushion we are giving on short passes. I would rather them play a little tighter and give our pass rush an extra second to get to the qb who might be holding the ball longer. Play the odds that their qbs cant hit the deep ball.

I'm glad Michigan boat-raced Rutgers. If they would have won by 10-14 I could have seen the game being a pick'em game. More emotional ammo for Michigan which they wouldn't need.

They'll have enough as is with the "Harbaugh can't win a game that matters" mantra.

Plus, UCF jumped them in the AP even though both won in blowouts.

agree. especially patterson who has shown accuracy is a shortcoming.

I took the Hawks at +4.5
They can win this game. I'm not saying that it will be easy.
I think our defense finally shows up.
It's been pointed out that it was supposed to be our strength and it's done well..... considering.
But here comes our first real test.
We could potentially jump to a top 10-11 team depending on how this game goes.

Ferentz said barring injury this week in practice, Merriweather and Jackson will be back. That ups our odds quite a bit.

Jackson does. My guess is they stick with Koerner at safety. Hankins and or Brents probably much more important than Merriweather at this point.

Iowa hasn’t played much 4-2-5 to date. But if Michigan has success spreading them out they might have to make that adjustment. DJ Johnson was supposed to be the cash player but he might be on the outside.

I think Nixion and our entire DL have a heck of a game.
That's going to cause tipped balls and ints.
I don't think Michigan can just keep it on the ground and beat us.
It's taking advantage of the plays they pass on and I think we feast.

This should be a heck of a game. This will come down to how our Dline and secondary play in tandem. I'm not scared of their D I think our O will put up 24 plus points which should be enough.

D-Line best game sat. Get AJ free How? Nixon or someone steps up Big..O-line Tackles must set 'tone' Jackson no ring rust. Tristan plays like a AA. All do-ables. Tough Players Always Tough. Basics huh?
