Mich St VS NC on Aircraft Carrier - Nov. 11

Call me negative Nancy, but this sounds like a huge waste of time and money. Two traditional powers squaring off in a terrible venue, months of planning, limited attendance options, and likely a large sum of money coming from the tax payers pocket. Even if the NCAA is picking up most of the bill, you can't tell me that Naval resources won't be used in large part to put this together. I don't get it and I don't buy that it will help the Navy recruit either. No kid says, "you know what, I was thinking about entering school or starting a career, but then I remembered that game they played on the deck of an aircraft carrier and thought the Navy sounded like a better option."

I think its a pretty sweet idea but then again i am a optimistic person. Brent Metcalf wrestling on the aircraft carrier was awesome!

This would be kick *** to play and watch. Hope it doesn't rain or become too windy. Outside BBall...Yes

Get this. I was listening to a sports talk radio show on this prior to locating this article. They actually have a contingency plan in case of inclement weather. They plan on moving the game to the lower deck. Really puts into perspective how large of ships these are. I believe the top will seat like 7,000 & some fans.

Even better yet. This could be pay per view. As a player or coach this would have to be a career highlight.

I don't really care one way or another about the game, but as far as it being "on the tax payers dime". That's technically true, but I know the navy has a certain budget for advertising/recruiting. This most likely falls under that, so the money will be sent either way.
Now weather or not you think this is a good use of that budget is another matter.

I think it's a great idea. For those that don't, atleast they aren't playing a game on foreign soil (no offense Canada), like some professional football leagues that I won't name.
