It's a terrible class. The Oregon kid isn't even a lock to leave early from the sounds of it.. QB needy teams better not go crazy and over draft em. Stanley desperately needs another year weather he thinks he does or not. What's crazy is he potentially could legitly be a top 5 qb after next yr. I hope he is and has the year to match it.This might not be a knock on Stanley, rather the whole QB class in general. Seems really weak

Barring some miracle, yes. Honestly might not be bad for the coaches to have to develop the backups in the event that Stanley leaves, either.Serious question: Is the QB class so bad that Stanley's odds of being drafted are actually higher right now than they will be next year?
I would guess that the typical success of big pocket passers over dual threat QBs in the NFL plays into this.Any list that ranks Stanley ahead of Thorsen, Blough, or McSorely is a poor one IMO. I know he has size and arm strength but at some point it comes down to just being able to line up and play. Those 3 are all light years ahead of him.
In that case, I'd like to see Nate declare. Let Mansell and Petras duke it out.Barring some miracle, yes. Honestly might not be bad for the coaches to have to develop the backups in the event that Stanley leaves, either.
At this point, I’m in the same boat. I had really hoped that he would develop nicely, but I’m convinced that we need someone with more swagger and that can save broken plays with their legs. Both of the backups have the potential. A lesser team at nearly every position went 12-0 at Iowa, and they did it because they had a quarterback who had these two qualities. In that case, I'd like to see Nate declare. I highly doubt he leaves early as well, but how do you think next year's QB class will look? The last 3 years in a row the 7th overall QB drafted went in the 4th round. So I think its unlikely Stanley leaves early. Last year's 7th overall QB taken was Kyle Lauletta. He got 700k guaranteed.
Here comes the Tua train!I highly doubt he leaves early as well, but how do you think next year's QB class will look?

So, if Hock leaves with Fant, I'm not quite sure it is smart to stick around unless the NFL reps tell him to absolutely stay at Iowa. He's clearly not ready for the NFL, but he's gotta look out for himself. In the end, he really might be screwed either way.I'm sure better than this one, but it all depends on who declares early this year. I think out of everyone listed ahead of Stanley only Lock, Finley and Grier are Seniors.
