McNutt

McNutt has killed Indiana's secondary for three very long and meaningful td's the last two years. He most certainly will break the record on Saturday!

Will the BTN announcers remind us about this? they have barely mentioned it this year, I only know about it from the media guide before the season when I started my own scorecard on the wall at my house. They should have a permanent graphic throughout the game just to make sure we don't forget about McNutt approaching and surpassing Tim Dwight.

I've been mentally practicing my skills at turning every thread on here negative just as some have made their goal. So, here it goes...

Who cares if he breaks it? It's this show boating, stats worrying, and ego driven attitude that has gotten this team full of themselves. Can't we be happy with wins any more? Now we want records too? KF has let this team and fan base lose focus of what is important, time for him to go.

On a serious note, it would seem a fitting venue for it to happen. A homecoming game that should hopefully be well in hand so people can enjoy the record and not have to worry greatly about the outcome of the game.

Can he throw one to himself to break the record? Isn't that what the scorecard read when the Indiana quarterback recovered a fumble and ran it in for a touchdown against the Hawkeyes? QB pass to QB for touchdown. I think KOK has a secret play for this.

Just out of curiousity what record was it that DJK broke last year? And how far away is McNutt to that record.

I heard McNutt is moving back to QB because Derby is needed at LB........I kid I kid.

Receptions and Yards...McNutt is within shouting distance, but is going to need some huge games against Indy and Minny to have a realistic shot. Double digit catches in each and at least 300 yards between the two games.

DJK has the career records for receptions and yards (this one McNutt has an outside chance of breaking).

Very unlikely to break the receptions record. He would need to avg. over 7 per game including the bowl. This season he has averaged just under 6 per game. It didn't help that he only had 1 his frist year compared to DJK getting significant playing time.

He would need 71 yards per game to break the total yards. He is avg. over 90 per game now, so that's a real possibility as long as he doesn't have a poor game or two.

I believe McNutt is only 426 yards away from breaking DJK's career receiving yards record. Considering he probably has 7 more games (6 regular season games and hopefully a bowl game), he needs to average about 61 yards per game. Very doable and I expect that he will break the record!!!

I had 497

Marvin is going to Iowa's all time TD record of 21 TD's. To put this into perspective, Randy Moss had 28 in his first season at Marshall. 26 the second year.

Which may even be more of a testament if he's close to breaking it.

Yes, you are correct. McNutt needs 497 yards to break the career receiving yards record. My math was incorrect.

That means he needs to average 71 yards per game the rest of the way, assuming a bowl game (hopefully).

I think he'll do it
