mccall

He will be a nice "extra" recruit next yr. Let's hope & pray for a quick and full recovery. He has some crazy ability.

i have to think the coaches are rethinking why they thought they needed to show him off in this game. could have won this game easily with deandre and others. they knew they had something special. it would have been cool to showcase him when conference play started.

Yeah I think we would have been fine without McNutt too, Davis/KMM and staggs couldnt have held it down

Wasn't about showing him off. I think it was clear he was going to be the number 2 back. Coker starts off rocky, you need to make a change and have a chance to get your freshman backup some meaningful reps against Tenn. Tech. You certainly don't hold him back so that he has to see his first action against a conference opponent.

It was just plain, simple, crappy bad luck.

Are you serious? I hope you are not. He's still a freshman and needed to get some PT to get out any jitters so he'd be ballin' by the time the big leagues start.

admit more emotional than rational. given 20/20 and knowing our history with rb injuries, just felt like we should have left some bullets in the gun at that position. next man in. I still feel a great season coming on. expectations low and not even rated (can't understand that still). go hawks.

Broken ankle. A little research shows it could take at least 6 weeks for the average person to heal.

Like Kirk said, probably out for the season.

It took me six weeks in high school (broke it 2 days before the first game), and I wasn't the same until the following season. Very tentative, even though I had been living to get back on the field for the last few games. Every little roll, and your heart skips a beat.

who knows what that means - KF said it was a break when asked about the ankle, but that can mean a lot of different things i.e. tibia and or fibula, or perhaps below. Let's hope a lot of ligaments aren't involved, or multiple joints (knee and ankle). it would be something else if that knee wasn't somehow injured as well.

here's a link to cokers stats from last year. they seem to indicate he wasn't played in first few games and saved for conference play. I've heard that KFs number one goal is to win big 10 conf title (ie. prior loses to ISU when he didn't place a lot of value on that game):

Marcus Coker - College Football

He broke his collarbone in fall camp. If he hadn't, he'd have been getting reps in September, too.

It had nothing to do with Robinson getting suspended/hurt/high, Hampton getting hurt and Wegher being an idiot.

You seriously want a true freshman running back getting his first snaps against the Big 10? come on now

Cmon Carl. You have to get a true freshman playing time before B10 season starts. You don't know what you have in a back until you truly put them in a game situation. It's ridiculous to think they would want to hold him back until B10 season started. Coker was only held back because he was hurt last preseason.

They aren't rethinking anything. They ARE, however, probably thinking that it sucks that it happened.
