I've been impressed with May's leadership this year. There have been times he has addressed his teammates on the floor when needed. The latest example was at halftime of the Virgiina game. He went and spoke with Clemmons after he failed to foul a player and it lead to a 3 pointer.

I don't believe that was because Clemmons didn't foul. He simply didn't switch and left Virginia's best shooter wide open.
Clemmons didn't switch because he tried to give the foul there, the ref just didn't call it.
Yes and I saw Fran on the sideline slapping his own wrist to motion that he wanted to use the foul.
If that is what Fran was going for, it was pretty poor strategy on his part. No way you should direct one of only two players that can run the point (since Gesell was questionable) to foul to prevent an opportunity that could be well contested without fouling.
Are you sure Fran wasn't just pleading with the ref after the fact since Harris drained the 3?
I'm pretty sure Fran wanted to give the foul there.
Interesting. Not the best strategy, in my opinion, but AC did end up with only one foul.

Bobby Hansen interviewed asst coach Speraw at halftime. The Hawks had a foul to give and were instructed to foul. They did not execute the strategy according to the coach.
Clemmons executed the foul fine. The ref didn't execute blowing his whistle.
