In choosing TCU he was probably never actually interested in Iowa. Basically two polar opposite offenses.

Yep. Talented kid, just not a good fit for KFz's system. TCU is. Was curious about TCU and did a little research...had no idea it was a smaller school. (about 10,000).

I have no clue what TCUs depth chart looks like but I assume he's got a clearer path to PT than he would have at Iowa, Nebby or OSU. TCU he'll be allowed to chuck it around all over and have fun putting up stats anyway regardless of how soon he ends up playing. It's a tad bitter sweet in that we are losing out on an instate kid that's really highly thought of yet it's partially because our QB situation is in pretty darn good shape for the foreseeable future. And if we aren't getting him at least ISU, Nebby MN, and any other BIG rival of ours isn't either.

Agreed. I'm interested in seeing what petras can do in a couple years. Sounds like hes got the size and the arm.

He was very much interested in Iowa early on. He and his dad liked the staff and how they were presenting a pro style offense, but in December/ January Max was focusing more on offenses that fit his skill set better. Iowa stopped recruiting him at that point is what I heard

Path to playing time was also a factor

For the record, he was not banned by me.
I understood. Hence the phrase "self-banned" by Fryowa.

Sorry for the confusion. Josh instigated the "pissing match" by name calling and starting negative threads and inaccurately thinking he was being singled out for "cancerous attitude".

TCU has finished in the Top 10 of the final AP rankings in six of the last 10 seasons.

Do they have better facilities than we do? Do they have a better fan base than we do? Is their coach paid more than our coach? Why is this acceptable Iowa fans?

Their coach, Garry Patterson, makes $4.75M annually. Not quite what KF pulls down but the difference is nominal in the coaching salary landscape.

I can't speak to their fan support. It's a small school. Upgrades to their facilities are coming LINK.

One thing I am sure of, their recruiting ground is much more fertile. Dallas does tend to produce more high level prospects than Des Moines.

Talent pool rationale. Surely that won't spark any debate on this board.
