Maryland facts

I'm convinced that from here on out...we better bring it. Illinois may be somewhat of a breather, but everyone else can beat you. I'm really intrigued about the Purdue - OSU game this week. It's a put up or shut up game for Purdue.

I'd love to see Indiana give Penn State all they can handle...I just want Penn State to have to work.

Maryland loves to run almost an old wing T - Hback reverse across the formation and flow of the play. I saw them run it 10-15 times on this highlight tape with good results but when Texas held the edge they stopped it those few times.

They always ran this to the Hesse-AJ left side of their formation so the hawks will definitely need to set that edge and get a defender a step in the backfield.

Their defense was swarming in the 2nd half but Tx seemed to get away from running straight at them and more passing.

We need to figure out how to stop Maryland’s running game. Maryland had 315 yards rushing and 8.5 ypc against Minnesota. How did that happen? Minnesota has a pretty good front 7 on D. IKM only had like 2.5 ypc against Minny. Maybe a game to unleash Amani Jones.

Load the box and play man on the outside. It's a formula that has worked against us for years when our passing game was suspect. Maybe we can turn it around on an opponent to our advantage.

Something tells me Phil Parker will have them ready and have a good game plan. My guess is that we set up to stop the run and force them to beat us throwing the ball. Can they be accurate in press coverage and pressure? Their QB is definitely a runner though...so we can't allow him to beat us running when he can't' find anyone open.
They are a good warm up for PSU. Stop the QB from running and we win the game, same as what will be required on the road next week. Weather is also going to be a bit more of a factor, windy and cold.

. But their QB looked pretty darn good throwing the ball so the hawks have to guard that more than I thougth looking at their team stats.
Watch his passes against Michigan, a real D. Not the sieve Texas has

His year stats are
Kasim Hill 55 for 103 totaling 654 yards at 53.4%. 6.35ypp 6 TDs 2 INT ..... barf

FACT: The big win over Texas came on week one when tons of teams are a little flat. The Longhorns had a long road trip, and the storm delay made the visiting team even more uncomfortable. There was even a report that the coaches for Texas ordered pizza during the delay. Every game recap noted that the Horns were really flat after the game was restarted and Maryland scored a couple times late to win it. FACT!

Their QB actually has -16 rushing yards on the season.

Personally, I think they should turn Amani Jones into a fullback. If he can catch...I say make him a fullback. That dude just wants to wreck people. Can you imagine a linebacker off balance fighting off an Amani Jones block only to then see Toren Young barreling down on him. I'm telling you Jones would move people out of the way. I'm just not sure he's going to be able to control his excitement. At LB, his feet are dancing around prior to the snap like he just can't wait to hit someone. You have to diagnose things at LB. At fullback, you obviously need to know who your assignment is...but in short yardage you could tell him to just go make a hole.

I still really like him on D. He already creates fear with his solid hitting. As he adjusts to the position and settles down a bit he would be a Bob Sanders style danger, hopefully penalty free.....

He would be a bonus at fullback, knocking linebackers on their asses.....

FACT: Crabcakes are over rated as food especially when there is too much bread and not enough crab in them. FACT!
I like my Maryland blue shell crabs lightly boiled, coated in a tangy mustard powder and dumped on the table to be pounded with a mallet into deliciousness. Just the way I expect teh Hokks to serve up a tasty victory Saturday.

Greenway had a lot of excitement back there as well.
Plus it's nice having a backer that can say go ahead, but if I hit you, your going to feel it.
" Meet me in the hole *****."

Vince vaughn's face screams "when the f*** have you guys ever been good at football"
