Nah it's cool, I understand the skepticismWhile i was typing i saw the news. Now i think many of you owe the OP and Ree4 an apology.
And our governments (all levels) aren't littered with corrupt, inept, and unaccountable buffoons?
The difference for Rob is that his people basically have to be willing to go on record because they know it will go public. Mine told me likely not knowing I would be passing it alongRob, this wasn't your finest hour. You elected not just to say you were hearing otherwise, but that the information offered by the OP was wrong. "Your info is wrong."
Hubris.

Rob said in the official Martin eligibility thread that the NCAA did not rule until this morning. So how did you guys know?
True, but he should also know there is a good chance people are not going to tell a media member the truth if they don't want the truth to get out.
The Big 10 ruled today.
So the real truth here is that the NCAA ruled some time ago, probably last week. Then the Big 10 had to approve it, where more than likely ole Jim had something to say about it and it was hung up there. But Iowa and OM along with your sources knew a long time ago and the reason the U waited was like you said from the beginning that it could have been waiting on the Big 10.
Geez GHawk, you should have just said all of that at the beginning of this post and it would have made everything so much easier!!!!

Martin and his inner circle have known since Friday that his appeal for immediate eligibility was granted by the NCAA. That significant victory didn’t come easily; the Martin family had hired an attorney to work with Iowa’s compliance office to put together a detailed case on why he should be allowed to play right away.
During the process, the NCAA gave Michigan (his previous school) a chance to review and comment on Martin's case.
And still, it got approved.
The NCAA ruling came in last Friday. That is when all the smoke started to ensue that Martin was eligible. Since Martin transfered within the conference the B1G had to rule on it as well. I think Chad's choice of words at the end also tells us something that was a rumor.....that Harbaugh was pissed the NCAA approved it and fought for it to be denied with the B1G.
Sounds like the NCAA granted the waiver, but then it went to the B1G where Harbaugh raised a stink, and has caused some delays.
Perhaps the sly old fox here was Captain Kirk. He let Ruddock transfer to Michigan and did not fight it. Perhaps this was seen by the B1G and/or folks at Michigan as not worth fighting as it would be seen as a double standard.I've been wondering if the Big Ten had to go thru Harbaugh or at least hear Michigan's protests, if any.

Can't be true, he said at B1G Media days that all student-athletes should be given a one-time transfer, free of restrictions. I just can't believe he would be hypocritical about such a thing.
Was just told Martin got the OK for this year. Announcement should be tomorrow. This came from a pretty good source, but obviously nothing is 100% till we get an official announcement.
