Marble's D on Jordan Taylor was terrific

In Taylor's four year career at Wisconsin, he's had just five games with 4 or more turnovers.

Iowa forced 4 out of him tonight.

I think he finished with 4 points as well. That made marbles offensive play more impressive. He spent 30 min busting *** on D. We take it for granted we are getting that from Gatens, to get it from Marble also makes us a dangerous tranny.

Taylor ended up with 9 points.Devyn cashed in 11 and had 8 assists, close to a double double

True, but three of the nine came on that meaningless three as time expired, and two more came on that nearly meaningless drive with 3 seconds left when we were in no 3's no foul defense

Devyn's length really bothered him. I am starting to believe that Devyn might just be best suited to stay at pg next year. Have Gesell back him up. Devyn might never be a wing shooter from the arc,but has good pg skills. I never thought I would see that.
His length helps him have good vision to make some nice passes.

Interesting to see Devyn develop as he has this year. He isn't his father but he is going to be a very good player and an important part of the equation before he graduates. Going to be an interesting time the next few years to see just how good of a coach Fran can be. As he gets his players, I believe he is going to develop quite an Iowa team...

someone really smart said that a couple of weeks ago.

This is an much too simplistic way to look at things. They'll both start and both handle PG duties at times. Gesell can play off the ball.

And it makes no difference on defense. Marble can still guard the other team's point.

I am in complete agreement with the OP. The D and overall team energy was unbelievable last night. Will Marble be guarding Paul on Sunday at Illinois? He seems to have a similar build and game as Taylor imo. Hopefully he brings that same intensity on D.

If you had taken Wisconsin in the second half, that 3 would have been VERY meaningful!

Devon and Gessell will work great off of eachother next season. Both can handle it and play off the ball and match up where they best fit on D.

twice Marble put the clamps on supposedly the best PG in the BT, once it might of been luck but twice i doubt it and i don't want to hear the height as a arguement, if you supposed to be the best height of the opponent as no bearing, you are either good or you're not. and in both game Marble was clearly the better player

Marble means everything to this team. Ball handling, creating shots for himself and others, making good decisions, being unselfish, and getting garbage rebounds.

Remove him from the team and we would really be in trouble. He makes the whole team better.
