Marble Motovated by Beileins comments

When Roy Marble played for the Magic City Snowbears I told Devyn (~3 years old) that he probably wouldn't be a Hawkeye, but that the Hawkeyes couldn't go wrong with him.. then his Father said... that is bulletin board material! Refused to sign my Hawkeye card... then changed his mind and signed it with the #24 (Snow Bears #) not the Hawkeye #23 just to irritate me. During the conversation he mentioned that he thought it was great that they were doing a Russ Millard poster day in LaCrosse WI for the Bobcats, and that the Hawkeyes would have won it all if it wasn't for the suspension of Ray. Then they lost to the Rapid City Thrillers and I went home.

Note: Kingsbury and Millard both played for the LaCrosse Bobcats at the time.

This isn't really news... but neither is that article!

Not quite...sure...what I'm looking at...here...question mark(?)

I have been thinking about how Iowa hasn't had a player go off in a game versus his home state in a while. Marble (Michigan, MSU), White (OSU), Brommer (Minnesota), etc. Even went back to football, Prater (Nebraska). The one guy i remember was Luke Recker, aside from him i can't remember a player going off vs. his home state.

On the basketball side its because we havent had any players capable of doing what Luke Recker did

the thought of Brommer attempting "to go off" is pretty funny to me for some reason. Is going off for him about 6 points and 5 boards?

The thought of Brommer going off on anyone is a joke or a pipe dream.

“I’m not about to make this a one-on-one battle. At the end of the day, I still want to win the game,â€￾ Marble said.

I hope this is the case. My biggest fear with RDM breaking out is that he will occasionally fall into that "loose canon" mode and press to produce too much, even though he's not bringing it that game. No way indicting him for OSU and MSU but I think these were games where this happened ...
OSU box = 1/8 (2nd most attempts, 15% of total), 2-a, 2-to;
MSU box = 4/15 (hands down most attempts, 24% of total), 1-a, 4-to;
Season = 66/159 (slightly less than 15% of total attempts) and exceptional a/to stats.

Here's to RDM getting back on track and focusing that "motivation" to get a nice home win tomorrow.

Well put.

In his defense during the MSU game at least he got shots off, everyone else just turned the ball over.
