Man, I'm going to miss Angerer.....

....because of things like this:

Q: What do you think of Tarpinian taking over your old spot at middle linebacker?

ANGERER: I told Tarp that if he ever played for the University of Iowa that we would be screwed, so I am a little bit nervous.

You don't ever replace a character like that. You just store it in the memory bank and be thankful that you got to witness it.

(By the way, kudos to Kakert for that interview....and no, it was not premium content).

There's way too much "freakin' awesome" in that answer...holy crap, that's funny stuff!

Pat is a very funny person. Should football not work out for him (and I am confident that it will), he will be very successful at what he does. Great leader, great person, and a great Hawkeye!!!

Angerer is a character. In many ways he's very "old school"...could have been a linebacker in the early 70s.
In this day of posturing, youtube and self-centered superstars Pat is a gem: a real man and a real football player. Nothing more, nothing less. He'll be a producer and very well-liked whereever life steers him.

I love Clayborn's quote when he was asked about the new linebackers, "Well, there's a lot less swearing.".
