Malik Rucker now looking around.

What's funny is that you think Iowa is a bigger program than Texas Tech.
You ever been to Lubbock?? If Lubbock and TT is so great why would Tubby get up and leave recruits at the dinner table to go to the Natti? Come on even at the current state of Hawkeye football I'll stick my neck out and say Iowa City is looked at as a better place to go to school and play ball. Unless your a WR or a QB who want to put up passing stats with Kingsbury there now I don't see them setting the recruiting world by storm. Unless there is a tie with Rucker and them I'm not aware of this surprises me.

Kenney went home to play at a school where his father is some sort of Recruiting evaluator, not to mentiomn they got 4* DT Darius Latham to switch from Wisconsin, they even may get 4* DT Elijah Daniel who decommited from Clemson, as loaded as the state of Indiana is. Wilson just might have Indiana moving in the right direction
Indiana this year has 1 5* and 6 4* recruits with Indiana landing 3 of the 4* players with a possible 4th, with Purdue struggling and ND ability to recruit Nationally Indiana has a chance to clean up with instate recruits. not to mention Indiana has 13 3* recruits. when you compare what Iowa produces
3 4* recruits 1 each by 3 different sites in
Wisinskie 4* by ESPN
Young 4* by Max preps
Campos 4* by Rivals
and 3 more that are 3*'s
if Iowa produced instate talent like Indiana does Iowa would be better than it is

Wilson has Indiana moving in the right direction because he and his staff know how to sell. He has received more verbals from southern state players (FL, GA, TX, etc) than he has from his home state to date in this year's class. With instantaneous info available to all these days it's not a big challenge to find quality players, the challenge is to sell them. The same trait it takes to hold on to them as we're finding out.

I have a feeling that in the comparison between TT and Iowa, TT fans would probably say, "You ever been to Iowa City?!".

Reality is, Tech is a larger university with much more talent not only on the roster, but in the near vicinity and it's not even close. They will be playing in their 17th bowl game in the last 20 years, most of which while playing a B12 South schedule. Tubberville bailed out of town before he got ran out of town. If the two programs were to go head to head, Tech would destroy Iowa.

I fail to see how you can even argue which is the stronger program.

you talking about this year or past years, as Iowa faced TT twice once with HF as the HC a win and once under KF a win
also Iowa has finished 21 times in the top 10. 5 of those under KF,
in over a 100 years of their existance
2002
2003
2004
2008
2009

also going back to 1982 Iowa has been in 24 bowl games going 12-11-1.
with KF going 6-4 with 3 wins against SEC teams Florida, LSU and South Carolina
under KF Iowa has been inlegible just 3 times
1999
2000
and last year 2012
2006 they were elegiblele but did not get invited
anything else you care to spout off about something you know nothing about!

And do you care to spout off when Iowa will be back in top ten?

when has TT been in the top ten?
and I say in 3 years at most, next year they go to a bowl. only those with no vision of what has happened in recruitin the last 4 seasons don't want it to happen because of their hatred of KF, are literally praying for failure so that KF is fired
players decommit everry year from every team. most get upset asbout Hill leaving, lets face it he was not even a consensus 4* player.
this team standing in recruiting ranking is low because of #'s 15 players will get a scholarship, 1 is a walkon, 1 a grayshirt and one a JUCO, these are players without rankings above a 2 *.

I'm sorry, but weren't you the one calling out Stormin for thinking he's the only one who knows basketball and inking everyone else is just a bunch of morons?

2011 class was top 30
last fall 5 4*'s in the class, boy that is some lousy recruiting
this fall Wisniskie is a 4* on ESPN
Powell a JUCO is not ranked because ESPN does not rate JUCO'S
also on ESPN Hill was rated a 3* grade of 79
the following are graded a 79 3*
OL Goeble
OL Welsh
LB Kenny
the only 2* is DE/TE Boetger who is a 3* on Rivals and LS Kluver, who by some is the #2 LS in the country.
11 of the 18 commits are grade 76 or better
this is not a bad class and as far as I can tell Iowa is after 3* and 4* recruits

and as a side note Nebraska just lost a 3* by ESPN to Alabama
quick sound a note of the demise of the Nebraska class as they lost a recruit to Alabama

Don't down play Hill leaving by saying he wasn't even a consensus 4*, by doing that you are down playing ever recruit below him as he was the top rated player committed at the time.

Losing Hill is a big deal, it isn't the end of the world but it does hurt the team ranking as now Iowa doesn't have a single 4* player.

You need to stop calling other people out, you know how people feel but by constantly calling them out doesn't make you any better than them just because you feel that they "HATE" Ferentz and want him fired. Not everyone feels the same as you, in fact you are in the extreme minority on this board.

in an offense that runs to his strengths...

Which are what exactly? Size-no, power-no, speed-no, elusiveness-no. Maybe I'm the most biased Iowa fan in the world, but Garmon wasn't that good.

Just because some guy that works for one of those recruiting websites decided to make him a 4 star, doesn't mean he was any good. RBs are kind of the one position expected to play right away, and he wasn't physically ready, at all. So maybe he could of developed under Doyle etc., but it wasn't a real strength problem, he's just skinny.

I can't make something up for everything bad that happens to Iowa football, and I don't want it to seem like I'm doing that. "Hill flips commitment, well that's not so bad". No, it is bad, it sucks. But the loss of Garmon won't hurt us that much. He is not a difference maker.

He is the most overrated (in true definition of the word) recruit Iowa has had in a while

Most ignorant post so far this year. Why did Kirk sign this four star if he was such a loser? No speed? lol Why did Kirk have him back there returning kickoffs if he was so slow?

depending on which site you go by Wisniskie is the best recruit Iowa had . How is that calling anybody out?
its called offering a different opinion, or is that not allowed without being accused of calling someone out as you put it?

2008 Iowa finished 9-4. Not in the Top 10 and I am pretty sure they were ranked 20th in the final poll after the bowl games. Another swing and a miss by dragonherbytarnredhawk.

Why does every recruiting thread have to become a ******* match between redhawk and everyone else? Can we create a thread simply for that purpose so those of us who would like to read about and discuss the topic at hand can do so without skimming through pages of crap to find something relevant to the conversation?

Playing in some of the most meaningless bowl games is hardly a barometer. And that's not even my main argument. What surprises me is your taking a MN kid in Rucker and saying that it's not a surprise that when TT comes and offers him all of a sudden he would waver on his commitment to Iowa. Reverse that. Take a Texas kid or even an OK kid who had been commited to TT for months then Iowa offers and he begins to rethink his commitment... You wouldn't find that surprising at all in the least? I sure do. And btw I've been to Lubbock and Iowa City both. TT is not even the little brother in that state. They are the red headed step child that is ignored unless the coach is putting people in the equipment shed. Just sayin.

Anytime someone disagrees with you then you go off on a rant and call them "Ferentz Haters" or say that they don't like these plays and hope they fail so that Ferentz will get fired, that is calling them out.

You seem to think you have to defend Ferentz and these players to everyone. You know what you are talking about you don't have to defend them besides your not going to change anyones opinions but if are going to discuss, relax, don't call anyone "any name" except their own even if they call you a name first.

I like going back and forth with you on recruiting, not many people follow recruiting like you do.

Wasting your "breath" Dave. And no, he doesn't know jack about recruiting other than regurgitating what is on other boards and recruiting sites. Continually listing heights, weights, * rankings, etc is not even close to knowing what you're talking about. Especially when it's the same f'n post, only slightly varied, every time. You're only further encouraging Herbjob to continue to pollute the board.

I don't mind ol'Red/Herby, he just gets a little excited sometimes.

Yeah, maybe he does just posts stuff from recruiting sites but at least he is trying to add to the board. Most people on here are just here to rip on other people for their opinions and never actually state on themselves.
