Lunardi Says.....

Iowa in a way is in the tournament every year. It's a one and done NCAA tournament for them that starts with the Big Ten tournament. Win that and they get the automatic bid, lose and they are likely done unless they can finish in the top five or six in the big ten. So technically speaking Iowa is in the tournament every year and unfortunately they start out in a tough region, the Big Ten region.

He has both Illinois and ISU as bubble teams, yet has them both get in AND playing each other. Take that for what it's worth.

At this point in the season, no one is "in". There isn't a team in the country that has won an automatic birth or received an invitation to go along with their seed. The season is a little over halfway over, there's still plenty of games to win or lose. These polls and opinions might mean something once conference tournaments begin and the field begins to take its shape, but at this point it irrelevent.

Win 1 game this week, and beat Illinois at home and we are in.

Iowa State doesn't have a big win but they don't have a bad loss either and their non conference schedule was much better than ours. That helps them for now.

How does beating an unranked team at home by 4 NOT get you into the tournament. Freaking ESPN....

They weren't ranked....but if the rankings were updated Fridays instead of Mondays they would've been. Heck they were almost rank even though they lost to us. Doesn't count though.

Iowa State gets in because they are on pace for what 22 or 23 wins. In a major conference that always gets you in, the Big XII being bad notwithstanding. It's like a bad Big Ten football team getting to play in a high profile bowl game, even though the conference as a whole wasn't any good.

Famous peoples bracketology doesn't matter.

However, the Hawks won't make it simply because the Big 10 is too strong and we won't have the resume to get us in.

The Big 12 isn't Pac bad, but it's not good, either.

Besides, I was under the impression that all the bracketology stuff was under the guise that if the season ended today, these are the teams predicted to get in?
