Luka Garza the B1G POY

Just for clarity purposes, the B1G began naming a a player of the year in 1985.

The Chicago Tribune named a Silver Basketball winner from '46-07. Sam Williams ('68), Chuck Darling ('52) and Murray Wier ('48) are the Hawkeyes to claim that honor.

What a huge accomplishment for Luka, this team, this program, this staff. Could never have seen this coming.

It was my pleasure watching Luka in CHA this year.

Kid works his ass off ALL the time.
Truly an inspiration to those around him.

Congrats Luka and Frank!

So much of his contribution is hard work, toughness, and a positive attitude. Whenever he departs from Iowa I will likely remember those characteristics even more than his record production on the court.

So much fun to watch as a fan. A well deserved award!

What? I love Connor. But, this is the same kid who has been T'ed up multiple times this year and who has nearly gotten into fist fights in several games, including on Sunday. okay.....

You know how when they interview some successful guy and they're like "what was your childhood like?" and then the guy says "Well, my dad was an alcoholic and he beat my mom and he beat me and the happiest day of my life was the day he got arrested for committing a triple homicide at a strip club" and then you think to yourself "wow, that guy really has his life under control?" I think that is what is at play here.

Fran with another 20 win season and another All B1G 1st team award winner.

Fran has done a helluva job this year with everyone that has gone down.
