Lose Hill and pick up????

Lose Hill and start to look at Josey Jewell from Decorah. Really? He shows interest from a bunch of Div 2 schools and we wonder why Iowa can't compete in the Big 10.

Can't Iowa go and offer some other teams kids that actually can play at the Div 1 level?

KF and his favorite son cannot spend all their cash if they work all the time---need some time to prepare for that difficult all expenses paid Hawkeye cruise.

Isaiah Gourdine, another Michigan safety decommitted from Cincinnati last Wednesday and Thursday Darrel Wilson was at his high school since he had an Iowa offer before committing to Cincinnati. He says he's considering Iowa and Cincinnati at this point as Tuberville is trying to rerecruit him.

Veii out of MD is still looking at Iowa a MD decommit

Didn't you say earlier in a different thread that you didn't like this kid except for RB and he isn't going to come in to Iowa as a RB, if he commits?

Iowa loses it's top committed player and you are now defending it by saying Iowa can get a less rated player that you already said you weren't excited about.

to make this clear as a WR recruit I am not excited about him, as we have Mitchell and Harris in this class with the same skill set,
as a DB recruit he is a better fit, and with his speed that have people excited, he could end up being that lock down Corner Iowa has needed,
one last thing he decommited from a BCS team and not a MAC team and is a ATH by some sites and a 3* on ESPN, this is not a fall back recruit as Iowa was in the process of recruiting him before Hill left

So now that Iowa lost Delano (It's lone 4* player), you want Iowa to replace Hill (mind you, he was being pursued by LSU which is "DB-U" pretty much the last 5 years or so, pretty much the best judge of DB talent in the country). Instead lets replace him with a guy who isn't quite as good but not think there might be a just a little bit of a difference in talent level? I think Veii would be a good pick up for Iowa but he isn't on the same level as Delano Hill right now, maybe in the future he will have a better career but that will be judged where it matters, on the field.

Veii has offers from
BC BCS school
MD BCS school
Purdue BCS BT school as well as Iowa
Hill was a 3* on ESPN
Veii is a 3* on ESPN
and people on here were very excited whe news got out he had decommited and was looking at Iowa, now that he might fill anothers place he becomes a lousy fall back recruit
my how quickly you posters change your opinion about a recruit.
going to be a great pickup blah blah blah, now that he might fill a void of a player leaving, he is not good enough for people

oh before I forget Sanders was a 2* nobody wanted, and he turned out just fine
also people keep telling me stars don't matter, but in this case it clearly shows that Hill is a far superior player than Veii
LSU never offerred all they did was get into contact with his HS coach to see if they could meet with Hill nothing more

Can you just make up your mind for once? In 4,405,304 of your posts you shout down anyone who wants a higher ranked class (i.e. guys with higher * ratings). Then in the very next post, and similar to your other 5,385,403 posts, you basically state that * rating doesn't matter. You can't admit when you're wrong, but instead attack other people and their posts. You contradict yourself every other post. You are by far the most abrasive poster on this board (and that's truly saying something). Why can't you comment on someone's post w/o regurgitating * rankings, height, weight, 40 times, etc or attacking someone who even questions your drivel?

NO I DIDN'T I just stated what other have stated in the past
and rather than spouting your drivel, tell me oh expert recruiter how the coaches are to get better recruits.
with out paying them or by cheating in some other form?
and you clearly know nothing about how Iowa has increased recruiting success
.
one more time just for you
last 3 years recruiting vs between 1999 and 2009 Iowa has consistantly landed 12-14 "2*" recruits per year
2010 -2012 Iowa has landed just 5 "2*" recruit each year, with one each year being a kicker. the rest of the time they have landed a total of;
15 "4*" recruits
losing Derby
Coe who never made it because of grade
Coker who was run off by Mason
Garmon lack of forseeable playing time
that leaves 11 still here, of which 3 are RS'ING
THEN IOWA HAD 41 "3*' recruits
in the recruiting class of 2011 was rated top 30,
everybody is wringing their hands over losing Hill but have a very short memory as Fleming was a 4* by ESPN, leaving the other 8 either starting or playing

Yes Red, I NEVER once said that Veii wouldn't be a good pick up, don't put words in my mouth.

I said that Delano in my opinion is a better recruit, like I said in the end Veii may end up being better but we won't know that until they both play on the field.

This is why people give you crap, you treat people who are actually nice to you like crap.

Seriously, this crap needs to stop, not every 2* player is going to be Bob Sanders, you realize that there are hundreds and hundreds of 2* players and very few of them actually having the college career that Bob Sanders does.

Iowa can't make a living off 2* players like they did. Guys like Greg Castillo proved that they can be serviceable replacements at times but they don't have the same level of talent. They aren't the long term solution to this team's turnaround.

Jeebus, you're such a derpster, Herbster. I can't wait for the day when Jon bans your *** again.

Come on man, no need to call names. I know, I know, Red/Herby has his days but no need to call him names.

We all want the same thing here, Iowa to succeed.

You can call him whatever you want as long as Jon seems it acceptable!

Well hopefully he doesn't open this thread (I'm betting he doesn't since the basis of the thread is negative). And I don't think Herbster knows how to link to specific threads, and hopefully nobody else tattles.
