Looks like Iowa may be out for Kouandjio

I realize it was the better part of a decade ago, but when one of those teams has an entire line drafted, then I would understand this.

Well I hope he doesn't suffer an injury or something like that and get "cut" from the team as a sophomore.

If I was a recruit, I would be worried about how the SEC lets their schools get away with all the over-signing and removal of existing players. Everyone is at risk should an injury occur.

Disappointing if true, as his commitment would have brought this class from really good to great. However, offensive tackle is not Iowa's biggest need at the present moment. Getting his teammate Cooper (if Iowa does so) may be a bigger deal on the field in the near future.

I also find it a positive that Iowa seems to be in the running with a five star OL recruit every year now, and I think Iowa gets four star OL recruits every year. Can't really say that about any other position.

Not really a surprised after the year Iowa had...top talented players want to go where they have a chance at the Nat Title and well lets face it Iowa isn't even close to that.

We won a BCS bowl last year. Yep, not even close.

Nor have the Hawkeyes lost a game by more than a TD in 4 freaking years... and won 3 bowl games in a row. Think before you post!

Iowa is not that far off from competing for the top prize. You need some luck along the way. Iowa can play with any team in the country.

If his final 2 choices are Bama and USC, it's obvious that Iowa fell out of the bidding a LONG time ago...these auctions usually come down to the high rollers who aren't afraid to over pay for something they really, REALLY want...

I meant to say "he probably wants the chance at a BCS title"...that's what I meant...it just came out a little different...

Really? I guess you don't pay too much attention to college football. Give Iowa 40 points over the last 3 years and they would have been undefeated for three years. BCS bowls win last year, win over number 12 Missouri this year. Yeah, I guess we are in the toilet.

If our coaches weren't so darn conservative, the boys could have easily scored those 40 points.

I guess you dont pay too much attention to college football or sports in general. If you give any team more points over the past three years then they would all have national titles not just iowa. We cant even win the conference outright. We had one real shot at that and that was back in 2002 and even if we played OSU we would have lost then. You kool aid drinkers need to wake up and realize that if it was going to happen it would have happened by now. I love KF and i dont want another coach, but as long as he is our coach we will NEVER win a national title. Just face it, we are not an elite program nor can we compete with the elites.

Rare and reaching.

I do like that you have him leaving early for the NFL. PRETENDing to know that is quite hilarious when you step back.....

Haha, are you an oracle now? Nobody knows for sure what would have happened in that game.

do you think that it is too much to think that his only pull to the iowa program is player development & the coaching staff? Maybe he has all the info he needed from one-on-one with KF & staff, as well as first person accounts from Coker. That may be all that he needs to satisfy a decision, it's not like we can take him to the amana colonies and "wow" him. Maybe his current coaches and influences in his life have no "insider" info about USC, and to statisfy his own mind he needs to see it firsthand.

if you re-read the tweet, the guy did not say definitively that Iowa was out, it was his opinion based off cyrus's decision to visit USC instead of Iowa (I would too). I know this is a positive spin, but equally so is the negative tweet that is just as speculative.
