A co-worker of mine was in Manhattan NY this week on business. He struck up a conversation with the doorman at the hotel he stayed while waiting for a cab. The 6' 6" or so doorman said he played basketball at Iowa for three years in the late 1990's. He said he was from Central America originally. My co-worker did not get the doorman's name as his cab arrived. He would recognize the person if he saw a picture but I can not find any team photos. Sounds like it could be Marcelo Gomes? Any advise where to find team pictures on line?

Looks like he is now a fashion photographer. I would think that would pay well enough that he wouldn't be working a door, but I don't know.

I don't know. Average pay for a doorman in Manhattan is about 40,000 a year. Fashion photographers mostly work freelance without benefits. It takes well over six figures in New York to live comfortably.
Could definitely be pulling the steady paycheck and also working as a freelancer.
