Look who starting to get some love

I disagree on White and Uthoff. They do have tweener issues, but I don't think that'll be what keeps them from getting drafted (if they don't get drafted, that is). Gordon Hayward was listed at 6'9" 208 as a sophomore at Butler. White is 220 and Uthoff is 209. Hayward shot under 30% from 3-point range as a sophomore (although he did shoot well as a freshman from behind the arc) and played a similar role to White and Uthoff. He wasn't a post up player; he was a wing player who was a 4 for Butler. And he was a top-10 pick, and is now starting to come into his own during his fourth season.

Hayward was the comparison made with White coming out of high school, and it still fits pretty well. It doesn't fit Uthoff as well, mostly because he's a better ball handler than White is or Hayward was.

What? Hayward was the primary ballhandler during Butler's Final Four run. That's why scouts were so high on him, he was a 6'9 wing who had great handles. Neither Uthoff or White have shown anything close to that.

I should have said similar style, not role. He was Butler's version of a 4, but he handled the ball a lot on the perimeter, just like White and Uthoff. And I do think Uthoff would display very similar ball handling ability, but he doesn't have to right now because we have a wide variety of guys who can do that.

This is going to come off negative but...

Jok - too soon for me to make a judgement
Woody- Even at 7 foot, he doesn't have the length or hops to make it in the NBA
Uthoff- Tweener, not quick enough to play the 3, not thick enough to play the 4
White- At this point no.... he's going to have to improve his outside jump shot. It's not there yet. White also has the tweener issues.

All I said was draft picks, not make it in the league.

But, here's my thinking...
At four years in the system? Jok is going to be a very NBA ready sharpshooter.
Woody will learn to play within his abilities, get stronger and be a good bargain big body.
Uthoff - Versatile
White - Pop can't wait.

Not to be that guy, but I think Gabe has more potential then Woody at this point. And by no means am I saying that Gabe will get drafted. Hope I'm wrong, but I just don't see it at this point in his career.

Whether you're talking draft picks or making it in the league... my opinions stand.

Brad Lohaus was 10 times worse than Woody at the same stage in their careers. Now, I know they're not the same type of player as Brad was more of a Gasser-type....tall guy that could hit from outside. But he lasted several years in the league. Big guys always take longer to develop. I'm excited to see how Woody performs by his senior year.

I'm 2nd in line behind you. I called it earlier this season. Credit to Dev as he has vastly improved his game but I also think he has a bit of a rough time last year battling some nagging inuries.

Remember when Cully was injured, Devyn took over and did rather well, all things considered, playing point guard in the Big Ten as a freshman....

He is one of the most difficult players in college ball to guard because nobody knows what he is going to do with the ball and he is fearless......
