Well Mr. Davis, Keno and Bruce all are available. They all have the clout to sit courtside in Carver and put a lot of pressure on Fran and Co.
BTW, Drake should jump all over Keno

Guys, by hanging on by a thread I don't mean he is in danger of being fired immediately. I mean his success at Iowa hangs on a thread.
Roy Williams said it. Guys commit so early that a coach is really recruiting the sophomore class by normal means. Everything else is by hook and crook. The 2012 class is that sophomore class. Fran has to hit with that class and he knows it. However, he also has 2 more holes to fill. So that is 5 players, counting Meyer who will make or break his chances at Iowa and only one of these players is committed.
So, when I said he is hanging by a thread, I meant that what happens between now and November will have very significant consequences for his success at Iowa. If he doesn't bring in a group of B10 caliber players now, he won't have a chance to do it later.
That is, unless he goes JUCO with both open spots and then takes another shot in 2014.
agree 100%. I would look for Pearl's future to be freed up for the next five years courtesy of the NCAA. He will get a TV gig somewhere, and I think he will be very good at it.Anyone remember Todd Bozeman? He took over as interim coach at California in February 1993 when Lou Campanelli was fired late in the season. California upset Duke in the NCAA tournament & went to the Sweet 16. Bozeman was only 29 at the time. He was the hottest young coach in basketball.
As a result of an investigation, the NCAA imposed an eight-year "show-cause" order on Bozeman. The NCAA came down particularly hard on Bozeman because he'd lied to the NCAA during the investigation.
Since most schools won't hire a coach with an outstanding "show-cause" order, Bozeman was effectively blackballed from college coaching for eight years.
After Cal dismissed him in 1996, Bozeman spent the next ten years working in the NBA as an assistant coach & scout. He was finally hired by Morgan State in 2006.
The NCAA will issue a "show-cause" order against Pearl. Kelvin Sampson received a five-year "show cause" order. The most serious charge was that he provided false information to the NCAA & Indiana.
I think Pearl will get at least five-years. I also think the NCAA may set a precedent in this matter & issue "show cause" orders against some of the assistants.
What are your thoughts?
