locker room fight?

I'm curious what happened.

Someone find out and post, ASAP.

Sounds like he got hit by a Buckeye...

And that made him go nuts.

Really?! Have you been paying attention? Usually things get out first here, well actually usually on another site and brought over, then Jon gets mad because people are spreading rumors and then he says a comment akin to there being too much smoke and then we get some weak media report three weeks later.

Seriously, our media is useless.

I love this post. That's all

Yes I know that. Same thing happens in a lot of places. Then the press work their ***** off to get access to information. Iowa's press takes what KF gives them and then go home and put their feet up. They are not press, they are PR.

You guys do know the press aren't allowed in the locker room, right? Some of you are the biggest whinny idiots in the world. I prefer to side with people like Tom Kakert who were actually there post-game and have said that none of the recruits showed any sign of any fight, anguish in the locker room, etc. Nothing seemed out of line to them, and people like Kakert observed this. You know, because they actually go to the games and cover the team. I agree with Kakert on this; it's an escape hatch for Gordon given his comment on being 100% with Iowa, not backing out on his word, etc.

Hey, Tom- see my above post. Happy Thanksgiving.

The Iowa locker room is adjacent to a long tunnel under the South endzone. Right after the game, the players walk in...the security holds the media back for a few minutes, then we are allowed to go up the same tunnel.

The recruits and their parents are usually outside the locker room at first..then a coach comes and gets them and brings them in.

The media are also waiting out in the hall, as well as setting up in the two interview rooms. There is zero access to the Iowa players locker room before during or after any game.

Whatever takes place in there, the only way it ever would get out is if someone talked.

As for a fight or whatever being in the locker room...

I have talked with a few former players the last couple days via text, or phone or email.

They said that brush ups are not uncommon. It's a physical game, and emotions are high. It's just that stuff like that typically stays in the locker room.

Someone allegedly told the 237 Wisconsin writer that the Iowa coaches didn't break anything up. IF that is accurate, it probably wasn't any sort of altercation where guys were throwing haymakers at one another.

Someone above said that Tom Kakert is of the opinion that this is an easy out for Melvin. That was the first thing that crossed my mind too, so I agree with Tom.

The home state stuff can be a strong draw...especially for a kid that commits early, and had an offer from the instate team. Then, when that team is having an excellent year, the constant talk in the hallways, around town, etc, mounts to pretty big proportions.

i talked to someone within the program and he told me that nothing out of the ordinary happened. this was a lame excuse from gordon and bush league by the wisconsin writer. hopefully we have means of retaliation.

i trust my buddy when it comes to this stuff.

I get the home state draw and the fact that Wisconsin is having a great season as providing a huge amount of pressure. I'd also consider the emergence of Coker, the return of Hampton, and a duo of Robinson and possibly Wegher. After watching Coker against OSU, he's gotten quicker to the hole in every game. With his size and speed behind next year's offensive line, he's going to be scary. Gordon would have to wait three years to be the man at running back...why not wait close to home.

Wegher isn't coming back, take that to the bank.

And like Jon, my first thought was Gordon was likely looking for a way out, and he found one.

My guess is the "fight" was a few words exchanged, and nothing more.

Maybe he met Coe?

Melvin will be the #1 RB in Wisky's class...

After Coe commits he will be the #2 RB in Iowa's class...
