He looks like he's going a lot harder than some of the other guys as well. I wish Basabe would play with White's intensity.

I'm definitely concerned about that. I like Fran's recruiting but I hope he's getting some guys who can shoot.

35% shooting in the first half... ouch. Need to knock down shots more consistently than that! But 17 TO's forced to just 5 for us, and a +7 edge on the glass. That's the good news.

First Half thoughts... Iowa leads 43-20 and I love the full court press w/White guarding the inbounds... reminds me of the Mr. Davis days! White has been by far the best player on the court scoring 13, and Marble has been fantastic. May/Gatens/Basabe just look to be going through the motions. I could beat Oglesby at horse... I am certain he is nervous playing in his first game??? McCabe has 6 points, nothing fantastic but solid yet again. Cartwright looks RUSTY and very hesitant... I don't know what is up with this. Olaseni looks like a freshman who will get better, just not now.

I look for Basabe to get it going in the second half. I wonder how many minutes Cartwright will be given?

The way everyone else looks, this is not far off.
White looks good, even McCabe is looking better so far. Good motor.
Cartwright looks pretty slow for some reason, Maybe they just have a couple really REALLY fast guards?

We'll be alright. At least we're shooting well from the line. That's nice change. Olaseni has a decent shot. With some confidence he can draw some fouls down low.

This team still struggles with exactly what hurt them last season - interior defense, 3 point shooting, shooting slumps, etc. Hate to say it but Anthony Hubbard loss is going to hurt more than we want. People really need to temper expectations. Going to be a lot of the same this season. Next year will be a HUGE upgrade, then we can expect more.

I just told one of my friends that earlier. He even kind of looks like him running the floor.
We are giving up a ton of dunks. Good thing this is the first game of the year. Our new players are looking solid though.
