Line ups for Iowa/Osu

Don't bet on it the way they been wrestling this whole year.
Actually I think I will, what do you want to wager?

top four in the nation? with this team. I'd put up my house and our two cars to start, I think your speaking from anger, this team is a powerhouse who I would think is more likely to win it all then anything else. 9 all americans is likely.

Bad meet.. but anyone betting this team doesn't get at least Top 4 @ Nationals is just speaking from anger..

When Ramos and Marion lose, it's gonna be hard to make up pts.

We've got some guys that are hard to figure out right now.. but, to count out many of them would be silly.

I don't know much about wrestling at all (or anything really) but do regular season dual meets mean much? Isn't everything pretty much decided by conference tournament and national tournament?

I'm not sure of your point and why you are being sarcastic, but having 125, 133, 141, 157 and 174 as AA's will be enough for a top 4 finish. Then throw in a very good chance of having AA's at 165 and HWT and that would be top 4 without question.

I don't think some people realize there is a difference between being a better tournament team than dual team. And Iowa is without question a better tournament team this year.

This doesn't bode well for Iowa for sure. The Steibers were alot better than I expected. I think PSU is licking their chops right now. I don't think DSJ will be able to beat Alton at this point, and Molinaro is going to throttle Kelly. Evans will probably also lose big to Taylor.

I was assurred earlier that McDonough would get bonus points, but he wasn't able to do it. DiJulius looked good. The whole OSU team came out fiery, and Iowa looked lost.

I am actually pretty pumped for ISU. Goettl just knocked off Maple tonight for ISU, who wrestled close with OU, and would have won if Beard could have gone and pulled it off.

What doesn't bode well for Iowa? The fact that half their team will probably be AA's and be in the thick of the National Title hunt?

What happened tonight has no bearing on what will happen in March. The sooner people realize this the better. Iowa beat PSU last year and yet who went on to win the National Title?

Again there is a huge difference in tournament scoring and dual scoring. All it takes is for 3 or 4 guys to get hot at the same time to win a National Title for a team, but those same 3 or 4 guys can't win a dual meet.

This team better turn it around quick if they want to place high at Nationals. What concerns me most is the lack of leadership on this years team. Last year I felt LL did a great job of being team leader but no one seems to be stepping up this year.
What concerns me even more is the lack of aggressiveness on this years team.
For whatever reason this team doesn't go out and dominate and consistently get the first couple take downs. This occurred against NW and again last night. I couldn't believe OSU had a 15 - 8 edge in takedowns. Can't even remember the last time the Hawks only had 8 takedowns for an entire meet. Lack of aggressiveness really showed in MM match. He was only down 2 pts with 1 minute to go and barely attempted a shot. I think Ramos will be fine but I'm still concerned that if he gets matched up against a good rider that he could struggle.
(Also need to give Coach Ryan credit for having his young team ready to wrestle)

I think the Hawks do match up better with Penn St and am hopeful they come out wrestling more aggressive and with a chip on their shoulder.

Has anyone heard any update on the how serious the injury is that DSJ sustained last night? Listening to Ironside it initially didn't sound good. I don't care if he wrestles against Penn St as long as he can get his knee healthy and is ready for Big 10/Nationals.

I do understand that this was just one 'blip' on the radar but feel the Hawks need to turn things around quickly in order to gain momentum for Big 10s/Nationals.

Can't remember when Iowa looked this bad as a team.Hopefully this was just a minor set back and can be corrected.I don't have high hopes of DSJ recovering from his injury, look how long he's been out of the line up and hurt it again. He doesn't move side to side very well and leaves his leg out there for the taking.JMO
