Lick fired?

Another reason I think there is some fire with this smoke is Jon must know something. His rant yesterday about some boosters he knows personally not being happy (not that anyone is, but I have never heard him talk about boosters before) and the fact that he shuts these rumor threads down about as fast as they are up is also telling.
 
I have not heard from anyone i would deem credible that Lick has been fired. However, I just spoke with someone that I chat with from time to time that led me to believe that Gary Barta is hearing similar sentiments to what I expressed yesterday from a host of people, both inside and outside the campus.

The 'media bomb' comment I made weeks ago was after I had heard some comments some former Hawks had made regarding the state of the prgram and their thoughts on it...real strong stuff...but then I realized that the real strong stuff was not likely going to be on the record, so that's why I said I regretted saying it. But the sentiments have been expressed to Barta. And he is hearing it from all sides right now..big time. I think the last two games of the regular season accelerated all of this even more than where it was before. Those were two historic losses.

I will say that I did not say what I said yesterday because I all of the sudden felt that something was going down, therefore it was safe to come out. I just can't take it any more, and wanted to say my piece now, not after the fact..whenever that 'fact' happens either this spring, or a year from now.

I caught wind that the team had a team only meeting with Barta and Mims this week. I cannot confirm this of course but I have other info that kind of points to the very important parties getting together for an unplanned session earlier this week when the team was in town still.

I can't take it anymore either. It is sad when I am not ****** that I have to work today and can't watch the game, in years past I would have used half a day of vacation but not now.

If so didn't see anything there about Lick being fired?
 
What I have heard is that the reason they had the meeting today is because there were more than 1 players who told Barta they were transferring if Lick was back. Because of this they had to have the meeting now before players went home after today's inevitable loss.

What did you say yesterday? Was it on your radio show? I would like to listen to it or read a transcript. Thanks in advace.
 
If Lick is indeed done (or soon will be), Barta better knock it out of the park with his next hire. No more mid major coaches.
 
I have a hard time believing they would have a meeting today with players. The only way I would believe that is if Lick were not on the bench today. So I am highly skeptical.

And the ESPN2 announcers will be clueless about this. No insight at all and just the same "this is a young Iowa team" blah blah blah.
 
That is total BS Ghost and you know it. It is one hire that didn't work out that was shown the door. When Alford left Lickliter was Iowa's 3rd coach in 20 years.

Nice way to skew statistics but no one is buying what you're selling.
