I think he said to prove to future employers that he is healthy and feels by stating health issues really hinders him in future coaches jobs. If he says he has to back out due to health issues, he really cuts his choices in half. If healthy he has to let future employers know that his health will not be an issue if he gets another coaching job.

Which is worse in the eyes of a hiring/interviewing AD? Leaving becasue of health issues (which you can at a later date say have been resolved) or Refuse to leave without making a scene and forcing the AD into a more public and messy "divorce" due to outcry from the fan base because of your horrid performance.

Lick failed at Iowa because he has no people skills, but still outsmarted Barta at every turn. Got an $8.4 million contract, and said f___ you when Barta wanted him to resign due to health reasons.

Although Lick needs to go for the good of the program, I would really like to see Barta give him another year so we could get rid of Barta too!

That won't happen in any scenario.

I'm genuinely shocked that there were 7 people that think he won't be fired. If the poll was asking whether posters thought he SHOULD be fired, I could understand it. But I can't believe there are actually 7 people in the State of Iowa that honestly think he WON'T be fired.

I would like to see him have another year to give him a chance to play his more seasoned players and to see what the new recruits will do. He needs more time to build a team. Firing a coach every 3 years will not build continuity for Iowa basketball. If the team does not show marked improvement after next year, then reevaluate.

Darn those people with opinions unlike yours

So who else have we fired after 3 years?
