legends division prediction 2011

First of all we go no worse than 6-2 in the Big Ten next year. Will Nebraska have seen enough -or have anything left in the tank- by time we stroll into town no worse than 9-2 at that point?

Second of all, NW in 2011 will be like Iowa in 2010. Because they will hardly get all the bounces they got this year. They will likely have 5 wins in conference, but start the year with a tough OOC game @ Boston College. They will have a tough time hangning in the top of our division, but still may manage 9 wins counting the bowl. I think it is beyond silly to say we win that game already, but unlike worrying about it i will continue to assume that we will win handily.

The ISU game is a landmine for sure. We no longer have the advantage of Austin Arnaud throwing the ball to us.

Tiller can't throw it at all. I'm assuming their juco transfer will be the ISU QB. I feel we'll be right at the top of the conference. I'd say Nebby #1 but they have a brutal schedule. I really wonder how healthy Persa will be. That is a horrible injury to return from. He beat us with his legs as much as his arm.

on paper Northwestern is truly the class of the division. They are replacing the fewest starters and lost the three games without Persa. They return their entire offense, and lose 4 on defense (might be more or less going off the top of my head). I think Persa will return fully healthy.

NW beat one over .500 team this year- Iowa.
Next year they play at BC and at Army...likely losses.
Persa will likely never run the same after the Achilles tear.
They still have a decent schedule in the league, but they will lose to PSU,Iowa,Mich,MSU,Neb.

My picks:

1 Iowa 6-2 (losses at Neb,and at PSU or vs MSU)
2.MSU 5-3
3.Mich 4-4
4.Neb 4-4
5.NW 3-5
6Minn 1-7

Cousins will be the best QB in this division, unless Persa has a miraculous recovery,so MSU has an outside shot at beating Iowa ,but it is in Kinnick..so doubtful.
