Lebron > Jordan?

Jordan once punched a teammate in the face. He ran multiple teammates out of Chicago. He called Will Perdue "Will Vanderbilt" because he wasn't good enough to be named after a Big 10 school. To often pushed his teammates (Kwame Brown, amongst many others) so hard that they were psychologically broken. Jordan was, in many ways, a less than ideal teammate.

LOL, how dare he attack the great Kwame Brown!

What's so hard to get, what do you base athleticism on? Can Jordan play 4 different positions? Can he chase down a guy from half court and smack the ball into the stands?
By no means do I think Lebron is better then Jordan yet. Maybe in 10 years from now that might change. However, I do think Lebron is leaps and bounds a better athlete then Jordan.
Maybe not from halfcourt, but Jordan did just fine in the block department. Check out this video:

Here's some of the players he blocked in this video:

Robert Parrish
Bill Walton (OK, he could not jump at this point) :)
Reggie Miller (and the save)
Larry Nance (he could jump a bit - Jordan had hair!)
Mitch Richmond ? (Jordan blocks lead to break, BJ with the assist)
Bill Laimbeer
Sam Bowie (ironic, huh? - also, Bill Rafftery on commentary)
Patrick Ewing (MJ let him into Space Jam)
Ray Mercer (Impressive part is MJ was a Wizard then)

A few Jordan quotes:
He's scared. He's got no heart...Nobody told me that. If I had spoken up, he wouldn't have been here.--on BJ Armstrong

They've got no idea what it's all about. The white guys, they work hard, but they don't have the talent. And the rest of them? Who knows what to expect? They're not good for much of anything.

You're an idiot. You've screwed up every play we ever ran. You're too stupid to even remember the plays. We ought to get rid of you.--said to Horace Grant

He can't do anything with the ball. Don't give it to him.--on Will Perdue

You ever hear of a guy, six-eleven maybe and two hundred sixty pounds, a guy big and fat like that and he can't get but two rebounds, if that many, running all over the damn court and he gets two rebounds? Big guy like that and he gets one rebound. Can't even stick his [expletive] into people and get more than that...Big, fat, fat guy. One rebound in three games. Power forward. Maybe they should call it powerless forward.--on Stacey King

This is great stuff. Jordan was the hungriest player around. He didn't care who or what he had to bitchslap to get titles. Its the same thing LJ did, except LJ just did it with his actions rather than his words by going to Miami.

It is a good argument both ways. Lebron is a more complete player. Jordan has the championships and was more of clutch scorer.

Think about this..... how good would the Bulls be if LBJ had taken his talents to chi-town? I am not a fan of Lebron or the Bulls, but wow they would be a young dangerous team.

I would take Kareem over Jordan or James if I was building a team. Jordan was fricken incredible but he also was more marketable than Kareem was.

OK, tehjumper, we get that you don't Like Mike.
But pls point out where MJ was incorrect in any of the quotes you cited? Seriously, was he wrong about any of those guys?
I'll answer for you: no, he was not.
Don't bag on MJ because of his fierce will to win and unwillingness to accept mediocrity and weakness in his teammates.
All those guys about whom MJ had harsh but accurate opinions? They all have multiple rings.

I don't dislike Jordan. I simply want people to remove their blinders and see him for what he was (which likely is the greatest player of all time, but is likely not the ideal teammate). Also, just because he was right, doesn't mean it is okay to say whatever he wants to whomever he wants. If a person at a normal job did these kinds of things to his or her coworkers, that person is likely looking for work.

you mean like breaking NBA rules but instead of getting in trouble they just sweep it under the rug?

Sorry but I'm still going to have to take James.

Agree with Pip. By the time it is said and done Lebron will be the best all around player ever. Lebron now > Kobe's prime and it's not even close. Kobe has never and will never make his teammmates better. Lebron can control a game without scoring. Only Magic, Lebron, Oscar and Bird have been able to do that.

Dosn't make people better??? its like you dont even watch basketball... lebron has never made anyone better thats why he couldn't win on the Cavs... Kobe has 5 rings and Lebron has as many as my broken cell phone ZERO...

Mo Williams made an All-star team playing with LeBron, that should put an end to the LeBron doesn't make anyone better argument.

Why does everyone want to equate the sports world with the real world? The average Joe can't identify or relate to a pro athlete and vice versa. So why do we even bother making these comparisons?

Jordan won titles with Will Purdue, Bill Wennington, and an old *** Bill Cartwright, among several other talentless 7 ftrs. And Mo put up good numbers in Milwaukee.

LeBron is going to win a title with Jamaal Magloire and Juwan Howard playing meaningful minutes in the ECF.

Meaningful minutes? Howard played in 2 out of 5 games for a total of 4 minutes. Magloire also only played in 2 out of 5 games for 15 minutes. Neither played the last 3 games

Mike, you know your NBA but this statement is FALSE

How is it false? Magloire played in the second and third quarters of Game 1 in Chicago, and the first quarter of game two, all of those minutes were meaningful. Howard also saw action early in game two, not a false statement at all.

When two guys play a combined 19 minutes in 5 games it is not meaningful. Really?

Pretty sure Maglorie didnt even dress the last 3 games of the series
