But there was ripping on the 2010 class. Any time I would state they were a Top 30 class, I'd get ripped on. This is a fact.

People are idiots. This is a fact.

No matter what anyone posted that was positive about Iowa bball while Lick was the coach there was someone there ready to rip on it

If you wouldve posted that LaVall Jordan wore nice suits someone wouldve ripped on you and pointed out it was a cheap suit from the sale rack at Men's Warehouse

BTW, LaVall did wear nice suits

My concern being a left-handed player is if he really is just a one handed player. Those of us that are lefties know that against weaker competition, we can pretty much do what we want, because players don't know how to cover lefties. However, you get against better players and they take advantage of our reliance on that hand and it is a whole different story.

Sure, if you like cheap suits from the sale rack at Men's Warehouse.

The thing is this, like everything on message boards, it's black and white.
Either a recruit is a blue chipper or he should be playing for Kirkwood.

I've been guilty of the former with Anthony Tucker. From what I saw, I was extremely excited to get him to Iowa.

I think the class that Lickliter had coming in was a very, very solid. Top 30 class. If Fran can get either Brust or Larson back and then add Basabe, it will be back to that level. Iowa would still need to grab a JUCO PG, though.

Is this a realistic possibility? I really have no idea.

Best chance of getting Brust back is to show Cully what it really means to be the anti-Lick. Really turn Cully and you have a chance at Brust.

Larson had offers from other high major schools. Brust had an offer from Northwestern. I will give you Brust as an exception...but for every Ben Brust there are 20 other guys who didn't turn out to be high major talent. Sometimes coaches can find guys that flew under the radar for the recruiting process. However, as I've explained that is not the norm. By this point in the recruiting process the top talent has been offered by the major schools. If a player has exclusively mid-major offers this late in the process he is probably just that...a mid-major player.

As you keenly pointed out there are exceptions like Brust that come along...but these players are not the norm. I hope if Devin commits to Iowa and blows up...only thing that would make me happier is if we were getting guys from the east coast that have high major offers already and have a much better chance of making an immediate impact for the hawks.

This cannot be said enough in this thread. I am also a fan of Creighton and the scariest time of the year is the spring cleaning that takes place when BCS schools clear scholarships and have to look under the mid-major rocks to find players.

As I watch the Thunder/Lakers game, most Creighton fans thought Russell Westbrook was going to Creighton. Then the UCLA offer came in late when Farmar left opening a scholarship and the rest is history.

All that being said, anyone who thought Larson was a mid major player should not be spending their time talking basketball.
