Last four games

We are playing poorly, as bad as any team in the BIG. I predict we finish 1-3 with a victory over Indiana. Wisky and OSU will be close but our wilting under pressure continues as we make mediocre teams look great. Michigan massacres us to finish off the year.

Big 10 tourney we lose to a hungry bubble team and we fall to a 5 seed in the dance. We all know the history of the 5-12 match up so I'll have to see who we play before predicting further.

This team is getting worse as the year goes on. If I didn't know their record and watched last nights game on mute I'd swear they were a 10 win team that quit on their coach and doesn't care.

I'll let you know after the Wisconsin game. See how they react next week after some time off

Agreed. Pretty sure that game will tell us all we need to know. Lay an egg there, then I think it's over. Come out and play a good game, get the W, then I'll still be hopeful for a good tournament run.

Iowa will dismantle the bad gers, and all of you will be back on the bandwagon.

I hope so. I have just seen this movie too many times not to have some skepticism after these past 3 games' performances. Going into the Indiana game, I thought this team was for real, but now they're making me wonder.

I can't figure this team out. I lost my mind at the end of the psu game with swearing at the TV and just generally losing it.

I need to step back and chill. Whatever happens, happens.

I'll just wait for the NCAA tourney and start all over again. You know it's gonna end badly. It always does. That's why we can't have nice things.:p

I was just sitting there shaking my head most of the game, but I really didnt lose my **** until Jok tried to thread the needle to Woodbury on the break with about 4 minutes left.

I'm starting to think this as well. The two wins over MSU were great regardless, but I think we got MSU 2x when they clearly didn't have their mojo. I get the feeling they would paste us now if we had a rematch in East Lansing. The Purdue wins were also nice wins, and Michigan is a so-so team that we handled.

I think this Iowa team can still be good with potential to play great on some nights, but those early conference W's may have been a bit of fool's gold.

Remember the Michigan game we jumped out to an 11 point lead in the first 2 minutes and ended up winning by 11. So it's not like we imposed our will on them. Teams overall record is proof of how good they've played on average over the course of a season. It has nothing to do with how they will play in one game. A good iowa is better than a good Penn State. An average Iowa is better than an average Penn State. A bad iowa is better than a bad Penn State. But an average Iowa is going to end up in a dog fight against good Penn State.

That's what happened last night. Penn State showed up and played their best. Even though they're at the bottom of the league, their best is good enough to compete with the top teams who don't play their best. We are a little better than every other team on the schedule so as long as we bring the same level of game as they bring, we will win. Meaning if they bring their A game we will win with our A game. If they bring their C game, we will win with our C game.

My goodness, most of you guys sound like the crybabies over on CyFan. We're still leading the league, have two of the top 7 scorers in the league, a 7 foot center who's finally learning to rebound with authority and two freaking guards that play defense better than most in the country. They have a week off to rest up for the final push. I see them going 4-0 or 3-1 at the very worse.

The only thing I'm curious about at this point is how far they drop compared to Oklahoma who also lost last night to an UNRANKED team!!! This is still an Elite 8 and possible Final 4 team in my eyes. They have all the parts including an incredible bench that will come alive!!!

Please stop sounding like lowly Cyclone fans that most of you were bashing just yesterday after their game.

Penn State has played us tough at their place for the 4th straight year. All 4 games went down to the wire. They finally pulled one out which should not be that shocking. I thought we would win but I never thought it would be a blowout. Look at my posts from yesterday. We pound Penn State at Carver and struggle at their place. It's just one of those things. I have no explanation.

On the bright side...We are undefeated at home. We tend to play well at Ohio State. Don't ask me why. It's like how we play poorly at Penn State. I don't know why. They said during the Ohio State vs. Michigan game the other night that LeVert may not play the rest of the season...makes the Michigan game very winnable.

Edit - We won at Ohio State the last 2 years...by 6 last year and 10 the year before. We lost by 9 three years ago.

Actually we have 2 of the top 3 scorers. Valintine is first in average then Uthoff and Jok. Since Valintine has played less games, we have the 2 top scorers in the league. Jok is 10 points behind Uthoff. I think he catches him in the last 4 games.

Oh. Dear. Lord. Lots of idiocy in this thread. Every single team goes through a rough stretch during conference play- it even happened to Wisky last year - and we happen to be going through ours right now. This break couldn't come at a better time. Time to rest and regroup and finish strong.

1-3.....Indiana and Wisconsin are playing much better than us. But, Iowa is 13-0 at home and will have their backs against the wall a bit. I look for a split here.

Iowa will not win at OSU or at Michigan. Both will be fighting for NCAA tourney positioning and Iowa does not have it in them right now like they did at Purdue and at Michigan St.

Best case 2-2.

Big Ten Tourney 1 win and 1 loss.

2nd round win in the NCAAS and 3rd round exit.

That's probably a pretty fair prediction. Obviously we can't afford to lose at home, and we have at least one road warrior in Wisconsin. A week or so ago, I didn't think the Big 10 Tournament would have much effect, if any, on Iowa's seeding. I'm a little concerned now. And then these damned road games. What is it about these road games (for most teams, not just Iowa) in the last third of the season that makes them almost impossible to win?

I see Oklahoma got beat at Texas Tech last night..

One other scenario could happen. Play well, and lose a close one to a surging wiscy team.

I like the winning scenario best though.
