Last four games

What do y'all see?

i have two ways of looking at this

1) stay mired in funk and finish oh fer or maybe 1 win.

2) gut check time, we kill WI and finish 3-1 or 4-0. That Bucky game is going to be huge.

At this very moment scenario one looks likely.

Win 2 games by double digits and 2 will be 50/50 games. Hopefully we get at least 1 of those.

This was a bad loss. I had stated a few days ago we could still get a 1 seed with 1, maybe 2 losses. But also said one of the losses could not be PSU.

Heart says we go 3-1. Head says 2-2. The next game is huge in terms if how the last 3 go.

I just pray we can have a solid March.

1-3.....Indiana and Wisconsin are playing much better than us. But, Iowa is 13-0 at home and will have their backs against the wall a bit. I look for a split here.

Iowa will not win at OSU or at Michigan. Both will be fighting for NCAA tourney positioning and Iowa does not have it in them right now like they did at Purdue and at Michigan St.

Best case 2-2.

Big Ten Tourney 1 win and 1 loss.

2nd round win in the NCAAS and 3rd round exit.

Uthoff and Jok are going to have to carry this team on their backs. We need bench contibutions from Baer and especially Uhl. Woody needs to be a rebounding beast and paint enforcer while staying out of foul trouble. But it seems the league has figured this team out and attacking those weakness. Every team gets wide open 3 looks.
We struggle to get them, then miss. We don't seem to have an answer. I see 2-2 as the best case scenario now.

I could see this as a probable scenario. As much as it would be awesome for more, I can honestly say I wouldnt be too upset with the scenario above. That said, a little luck and maybe the dream lives. An Elite 8 run would be unbelievable.

0-4. Kids won't come back after tonight, too scared to really get after it, and I think Fran gets soft at times when the games are on the line...just my observation over the past few games. I hope I'm wrong.

These are my feelings exactly. I hope like hell I'm wrong, but I just don't see it.

It's so easy to say we just lost to the worst team left on our schedule so we won't win any of the others. That's just not how basketball works tho.

With the week off hopefully Fran will look at his game planning more carefully.

I kind of think maybe Sapp will give the crew a come to Jesus meeting. I get the feeling he isn't happy about how things are currently going.

If they can get mentally refocused and physically refreshed I can see them winning all four games.

However that's a lot of ifs. Assuming they don't make some mental changes and maintain status quo, probably one win if they are lucky.

Must play better defense, have some more scoring/solid games out of Adam, Mike, Sapp, and some help from the bench. I guess that's quite a bit to ask for.

Bad win at home against a CRAPPY Minny team, then go on the road against a wosre PSU team and get out everything and lose, this team is just not good right now, i expect AT best they go 2-2 to end the year and barely stay in top 25

if he isnt happy maybe he needs to STOP missing FT's

This team has a week to stew over this, by the time they hit the court to play Wisconsin they will be chomping at the bit to get after them.

I've said this before and I'll say it again this team lives and dies on Uthoff and when he has a bad shooting night this team struggles. He isn't hitting those long fade aways like he was earlier in the season and now has to be pretty much wide open to knock down a 3. I don't expect his regression to continue he is too damn good of a shooter to stay down this long. When he breaks out this Iowa team can beat anybody anywhere.

I'm starting to think this team just played above their skill level for a long time. Sometime teams go on hot steaks. We went on one at the right time against the right teams. We shot uncharacteristically well at MSU for instance.

Now we're regressing to the mean a bit. Were seeing the Iowa that was supposed to be on the bubble. Having said that were still in position to at least share the title and bubble teams could still go 2-2 or 3-1 with the games we have remaining. That could still be enough. I think the team and myself as well could use the week off so I'm going to avoid college bball for a bit.

I completely agree. You just can't have 3 starters that can't score and be a great team. The average Iowa that they were supposed to be can still go on another hot streak. If not, maybe they can win a close game or two. It's even possible we will run into a couple teams who have really bad shooting nights. We don't have to play lights out again to sneak out a win 4 games in a row, it just helps.

What do you see? Well, once again I see a bunch of whiny internet 'fans' who always think they have the answers, so what the heck, I'll throw my 2 cents in but it won't be whiny. I see a team that wasn't expected to do much of anything come out and play about as hard as you can (to offset maybe not being the most skilled bunch) for a long period time. They have excited the fans and got the nations attention and no matter how they finish, my hats off to the effort this team. I see a team that has looked a little wore out the last 3 games from climbing this mountain and since they have a week off, I would give them 2 or 3 days off, tell them to stay entirely out of the gym and REST we'll get back at it Monday to get ready to finish fresh and strong! Don't think they look wore out? Think about all the 50/50 balls we got when things were going good and the energy was there and think about the 50/50 balls the last 3 games.

I pretty much agree with this UNLESS last night's game lights a fire under this team. As someone else said, I think this will either A) cause the wheels to come off or B) the seniors respond to this gut check and decide they want to finish their careers in grand fashion.

For the record, it isn't "2nd and 3rd" rounds anymore - they are calling it 1st & 2nd rounds again. Never could stand the "3rd round" label - made it confusing as to what people meant when they mentioned 1st or 2nd round games.

I'm starting to think this as well. The two wins over MSU were great regardless, but I think we got MSU 2x when they clearly didn't have their mojo. I get the feeling they would paste us now if we had a rematch in East Lansing. The Purdue wins were also nice wins, and Michigan is a so-so team that we handled.

I think this Iowa team can still be good with potential to play great on some nights, but those early conference W's may have been a bit of fool's gold.
